Gaza Aid Needed

http://ilyameyer.com/english/2010/07/13/gaza-aid-needed/

Gaza aid is desperately needed.

That is, aid to the Arab and Muslim worlds from Gaza, one of the territories/nations with the lowest infant mortality rates and one of the highest life expectancy rates in the Arab and Muslim sphere.

And it needs to be sent to those many Arab and Muslim regimes where there is a desperate need for such humanitarian aid. Not least among them Libya, Turkey, the Lebanon and Iran. Read the analysis by Israeli journalist Ben-Dror Yemini. You won’t find a harder-hitting, more objective and lucid commentary with evidence to back up every claim of human rights abuses by Arab and Muslim regimes or of Gaza’s burgeoning health and economy. Read here an earlier article by Yemini on Palestinian intransigence and another on human rights abuses by and within the UN.

With a ship from Libya approaching the shores of Gaza, it is time to remind the world that it is the Libyan regime that for decades years supplied and trained the Irish terrorists who routinely murdered and maimed thousands of civilians in Northern Ireland and England in pursuit of their political aims. And that’s before we even talk about Libya’s downing of a Pan Am flight that was blown up over Lockerbie in Scotland, killing all on board.

The Lebanese want to send an aid ship to the Palestinians of Gaza, but the Palestinians of the Lebanon are denied such basic human rights as citizenship, the right to engage in certain professions, the right to own property. Sound familiar? The Lebanese army slaughered hundreds in battles against Palestinian terrorists - not a word of protest in the outside world, no suggestion that the Lebanese regime be expelled from the UN, no call for a BDS campaign against the Lebanese government.

Turkey recently sent a ship to Gaza as part of its pursuit of the Palestinians’ human rights, and the Turkish terrorists on board attacked the Israeli officers executing a police action to check the ship’s cargo as permitted by international maritime law. As indeed the US, the UK, Germany, Sweden, France and countless other countries do every single day off the coasts of Iran and Africa, among others. Turkey routinely persecutes its Kurdish and Armenian minorities, and is in fact colluding with Iran and Syria - another two bastions of human rights – to deny the Kurds any degree of freedom whatsoever. Silence from the world.

Iran wants to send an aid ship to Gaza to defend the human rights of the Palestinians. Iran routinely undertakes public hangings of political dissidents, public stonings of rape victims, cuts off the hands of alleged thieves and pursues a policy of “one hand one vote”: vote for Ahmadinejad or you lose one hand.

These are but a few of the regimes using every opportunity to chastise Israel while utterly ignoring human rights abuses in the Arab and Muslim worlds. The only reason this is possible is because the Western world thinks it is politically correct not to antagonise Islam while allowing Islamists to subjugate Christians and Jews the world over.

Israel is first on the Islamists’ list, followed immediately by Andalus.

Never heard of “Andalus”? That’s the name Islamists use for the area that embraces all of Spain, a territory conquered by Islam centuries ago and claimed ever since. Exactly like they claim “Palestine”, which they insist embraces all of Israel. See the parallels? If not, you should worry. There are plenty of experts and analysts who do see the parallels – and the dangers – such as Richard Landes writing on Pajamasmedia.com. For further insight into censorship on matters relating to Islam – while other religions are attacked at will - read the article on islamist.org by David J. Rusin. And read also Paul Berman’s excellent “What You Can’t Say About Islamism” in the Wall Street Journal.
