Dichter Likens Current Situation to Winograd

(IsraelNN.com) During the weekly Sunday morning cabinet meeting, Public Security Minister Avi Dichter likened the situation with terrorists in Gaza to the situation in the north during the Second Lebanon War. Dichter read parts of the recently published Winograd Report to the cabinet, underscoring the similarities between the performance of the government during the war in 2006 and the current reality. “The home front is under an extensive Kassam attack,” read Dichter. “The home front sustains casualties and its civil functioning is badly harmed, but no military operation is prepared to give an answer to the situation.”

The Public Security Minister visited Sderot on Saturday, just hours before a barrage of Kassam rockets hit the city. An eight-year-old boy lost part of one leg in the attack and his 19-year-old brother was also seriously injured.
