“Is Fear of Islam unfounded?,” by Reza Varjavand for Iranian.com, February 26:
An attempt is made to share the truth regarding issues concerning Israel and her right to exist as a Jewish nation. This blog has expanded to present information about radical Islam and its potential impact upon Israel and the West. Yes, I do mix in a bit of opinion from time to time.
Laura: A stark reminder of why Jews should never be made powerless again. Israel should not relinquish one inch of its homeland to its genocidal enemies. This is suicidal.

Frameworks for disaster
Watching time run out
at a dangerous pace, U.S. President Barack Obama has decided to take a
more hands-on role in foreign policy. The impending peril he fears is
not an Iranian atom bomb, however.
No, in spite of the
Islamic Republic's refusal to halt its nuclear program, Obama is as
hopeful about the latest round of talks in Vienna as is European Union
negotiator Catherine Ashton.
"We had three very
productive days during which we have identified all the issues we need
to address to reach a comprehensive and final agreement," Ashton said
last week.
This was music to White
House ears. Now it could ignore Iran's about-face following its signing
of an interim agreement with the West in November. Indeed, before the
ink had dried on the document, Iran was denouncing Obama's
interpretation of it.

Hamas' real problem with the UNRWA curriculum is that it could spoil the Islamist movement's ongoing efforts to stir the hearts and minds of Palestinian children to wage jihad against the "enemies" of Islam. Hamas wants Palestinian children to be taught how to become suicide bombers and seek the death of Jews and "infidels."Palestinian schoolchildren in the Gaza Strip have been denied the opportunity to learn about human rights after the Hamas government determined that such a subject "dangerously contravenes Palestinian and Islamic culture."
“Iran enjoys lots of attractions for investment in the oil sector, and therefore with the resolution of the contracts’ problem, the grounds will be prepared for the renewed presence of big oil companies in the country,” said Hosseini.

Though he was neither charged with nor convicted of treason, there is no
dispute that Jonathan Pollard committed serious offenses and that he
deserved to be punished severely. However, it is doubtful that Pollard
received a fair trial and whether the sentence imposed on him – life in
prison without parole – was appropriate. Even if this were the case, it
seems that at this stage Pollard’s incarceration does not serve a rational
purpose.
Did Jonathan Pollard have a proper and fair trial? Pollard signed a plea
agreement, and the Justice Department stated during the trial that he
cooperated with law enforcement authorities.

According to a senior official in the PA Ministry of Women’s Affairs, there has been a 100% rise in the number of Palestinian women murdered in the name of “family honor.” The official also complained that PA leader Abbas has not fulfilled his pledge to change PA law, which currently protects the murderers of women who were killed because of so-called “family honor”
PA law follows the clauses in Jordanian law that are lenient toward perpetrators of crimes such as “honor killings”.

Just
a few years ago, almost every significant evangelical leader, such as
pro-Israel stalwart Pastor John Hagee (right), here with Prime Minister
Binyamin Netanyahu, came out squarely behind the Jewish state. But now,
questioning Christian support for the Jewish state is fast becoming a
key way for millennials to demonstrate Christian compassion and bona
fides.

During a press conference on January 14, French President François Hollande revealed that French intelligence services believe more than 700 French nationals and residents have travelled to fight in Syria. This figure is more than double the previous estimates. One month into 2014, Islam-related controversies continued making headlines in newspapers across Europe. The most salient topic involved the dramatic increase in the numbers of European jihadists participating in the war in Syria.
Smaller Gazan terror groups have taken to "sub-contracting jobs" to terrorists in the neighboring Sinai Peninsula, to avoid exposing Hamas in Gaza to Israeli retaliation. Hamas and Islamic Jihad use the she same "trick". It also allows them to build up their own rocket arsenals to prepare for a future clash with Israel.A breakdown in state sovereignty among Arab countries bordering Israel has created a vacuum eagerly filled by radical non-state actors.

In
its annual survey of American Jewry published last October, the
American Jewish Committee found that 75 percent of American Jews agree
with the statement, “The goal of the Arabs is not a peaceful two-state
agreement with Israel, but rather the destruction of Israel.”
And yet, American Jews supported the establishment of a Palestinian state 50% to 47%.
Next
week over 10,000 predominantly Jewish American supporters of Israel
will gather in Washington at AIPAC’s annual policy conference. Given
their high commitment to Israel, probably most of those gathered belong
to the 47% of American Jews who opposed Palestinian statehood.

February 22, 2014 The fiery sermon last Friday by Qatar-based Egyptian cleric Yousuf Al Qaradawi, in which he repeated attacks on Saudi Arabia and the UAE, threatens to further sour relations between Qatar and its neighbours, wrote Abdel Bari Atwan, editor-in-chief of the news website Rai Al Youm.
Many thought that Saudi Arabia’s threats to close its border and airspace and even freeze its relations with Qatar would prompt Doha to ‘silence’ Al Qaradawi and prevent him from giving sermons. The cleric was also behind the crisis with the UAE which, three weeks ago, he accused of being against Islamic rule. The Saudi threats appeared in a London-based newspaper with close connections to Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
If the Iranian regime were to execute the Moradi cousins, the Kurds would make heroes out of them; and the Iranian regime does not like Kurdish heroes.According to a report received by the International Committee Against Executions (ICAE), Loghman Moradi was taken by authorities from his cell in Rajai-Shahr prison yesterday in the early morning for "court proceedings," raising alarm that he was about to be executed.
An especially important point here is that the converse is true. The conditions for major war develop much more easily when the U.S. is too weak. They are developing as we speak.
The gathering storm
The collapse of order in the Arab nations in 2011 was the first significant stage of the process. The perception that the United States would do nothing about a Hezbollah coup in Lebanon was tested in January of that year. The perception proved to be true, and when protests erupted in Tunisia and Egypt, for causes both natural and manufactured, a set of radical Islamist actors – the “establishment” Muslim Brotherhood, Sunni jihadists, Iran – saw an opportunity. The establishment Muslim Brotherhood has largely won out in Tunisia, but the battle still rages among these radical actors for Egypt, Syria, and now Iraq. Lebanon is being incrementally sucked into the maelstrom as well.
