Released Gitmo detainees may be granted asylum on American soil

Such as the Uighur jihadis, whom China has warned the world against offering asylum. More "magnanimity" (that is, naivete) from our "progressive" leaders. "Gitmo detainees could wind up in U.S., AG says," from the Denver Post, March 19: WASHINGTON — Some Chinese Muslim detainees at Guantanamo Bay could possibly be released in the U.S., Attorney General Eric Holder said Wednesday.

During an interview, Holder was asked whether members of a group of Uighurs at the U.S. military detention facility in Cuba could be released on American soil.

"We're trying to come up with places for them," Holder said. He added later: "The possibility exists."

A federal judge in October ordered that the 17 men — who were cleared for release but fear being tortured if they are returned to China — be allowed to enter the U.S. A federal appeals court, however, overruled that decision.

How does one get passed some change in policies that minimally would be upsetting to mainstream America? Place all the attention on the "greed" of rich insurance companies, incite citizens to anger, make sure the press harps on the "bonuses" day after day while your administration goes about making changes like prisoner release, no guns allowed by airplane pilots, punishing tax payers who the administration think owe the public and so many more. Change, you bet their is change and virtually no major media are willing to stop it. We, blogosphere individuals and cable tv and talk radio are the only vehicle standing in the way of becoming a socialistic country.
