Israel Lives
A bulletin put out by The Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver reported that "University campuses across Canada are becoming more challenging environments for Jewish students, as anti-Israel campus groups engage in increasingly hostile and occasionally violent activities." The bulletin referred to York University's handling of the situation as a "head in the sand approach."Jewish Students Held Hostage in Toronto Hillel - Tori Cheifetz (Jerusalem Post) Jewish students at York University in Toronto were forced to take refuge in the Hillel office last Wednesday as anti-Israel protesters banged on the glass doors, chanting, "Die, Jew, get the hell off campus." See also Manchester U. Students Vote to Condemn Israel - Jonathan Kalmus (Jewish Chronicle-UK) In an emergency general meeting of the Manchester University's Student Union on Wednesday, 550 students voted for a motion to boycott Israeli goods and condemn Israel's Gaza operation, defeating 200 voting against. See also Oxford Students Defeat Anti-Israel Campaign - Marcus Dysch (Jewish Chronicle-UK) A motion calling for the university to condemn Israel's action in Gaza was rejected by the Oxford University Student Union on Friday by 40 votes to 21. Jewish academics at the university had earlier expressed concern over last month's library sit-in by anti-Israel protestors. >Carter ran against the unpopular Nixon and Nixon's unpopular Vietnam war in the name of change, human rights, and hope.
>America's strongest Muslim ally whispered to his closest confidant, "Who knows what sort of calamity he may unleash on the world?"
>He Provided political and financial sponsorship. . . checks of $150 million to Neauphle-le-Chateau outside Paris. . . while Khomeini plotted to kill the Shah of Iran and overthrow his nation. The French, British, and Germans agreed to support his plan.
>An Air France jet loaded with terrorists and journalists delivered Carter's holy man to Tehran On April Fools Day 1980 Ayatollah Khomeini, the godfather of world terror, proclaimed "the first day of the government of God," thus giving birth to what is now known as radical Islam.
>The fuse had been lit; the Russians invaded Afghanistan, and
>Iraq went to war with Iran, resulting in the deaths of over 2.3 million innocent Muslims.
>Bin Laden used the number of deaths in Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan to justify his insane attack on 9/11.
>Carter poured $500 million into the Muslim Brotherhood, calling them freedom fighters. We now call them the Taliban and al Qaeda.
>On Inauguration Day 1980 shortly after 4:00 AM he wire-transferred $7.9 billion in an attempt to buy back the hostages after 444 days of humiliation.
>On Inauguration Day 2009 he released his Plan for Peace in the Holy Land to persuade President Obama to weaken Israel, America's strongest ally in the Middle East; support terror regimes that have murdered scores of Americans and Israelis; and heed the call to divide Jerusalem, giving East Jerusalem to the Palestinian Authority as its Islamic capital.
>>This is an appeasement plan that will not solve the problems in the Holy Land; it will instead unify and embolden radical Islam once again.

One might wonder IF Carter is NOT SOMETHING MORE VENAL, and perhaps SELF SERVING. His foundation is heavily supported by Muslim funding.
ISRAEL HAS LAUNCHED A COVERT WAR AGAINST IRAN as an alternative to direct military strikes against Tehran's nuclear programme, US intelligence sources have revealed. IS THIS SUFFICIENT TO DERAIL IRANS NUCLEAR PROGRAM?
>Mossad was rumoured to be behind the death of Ardeshire Hassanpour, a top nuclear scientist at Iran's Isfahan uranium plant, who died in mysterious circumstances from reported "gas poisoning" in 2007.
>Israel has also used front companies to infiltrate the Iranian purchasing network that the clerical regime uses to circumvent United Nations sanctions and obtain so-called "dual use" items - metals, valves, electronics, machinery - for its nuclear programme.
>The businesses initially supply Iran with legitimate material, winning Tehran's trust, and then start to deliver faulty or defective items that "poison" the country's atomic activities.
>On one occasion, Iran itself is understood to have destroyed a nuclear facility near Tehran, bulldozing over the remains and replacing it with a football pitch, after its existence was revealed to UN inspectors. The regime feared that the discovery by inspectors of an undeclared nuclear facility would result in overwhelming pressure at the UN for tougher action against Iran
Report: Israel Launches Covert War Against Iran's Nuclear Program - Philip Sherwell
Israel has launched a covert war to disrupt Iran's illicit nuclear program, U.S. intelligence sources have revealed. A former CIA officer on Iran told the Daily Telegraph: "Disruption is designed to slow progress on the program, done in such a way that they don't realize what's happening....The goal is delay, delay, delay until you can come up with some other solution or approach. We certainly don't want the current Iranian government to have those weapons. It's a good policy, short of taking them out militarily, which probably carries unacceptable risks."
Reva Bhalla, a senior analyst with Stratfor, a private intelligence company with strong U.S. government security connections, said, "With cooperation from the United States, Israeli covert operations have focused both on eliminating key human assets involved in the nuclear program and in sabotaging the Iranian nuclear supply chain." (Telegraph-UK)
FRENCH COURT HOLDS VICHY GOVERNMENT RESPONSIBLE FOR DEPORTING JEWS DURING HOLOCAUST -France's Council of State, its top judicial body, on Monday recognized the French government's responsibility for the deportation of Jews during World War II in the clearest such recognition of the state's role in the Holocaust. Thousands of Jews were deported from France to Nazi death camps by the collaborationist Vichy regime. The council called for a "solemn recognition of the state's responsibility and of collective prejudice suffered" by the deportees.
ANOTHER 'ESCAPE' FROM PA PRISON. A total of 15 PA prisoners escaped the prison in the West Bank city of Jericho on Friday. The majority of the escaped prisoners were part of the Fatah military wing, al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades. The Fatah terrorists had been imprisoned at the West Bank facility as per an amnesty agreement between PA and Israeli officials.
NANOTECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE IN ISRAEL. The first International Nanotechnology Conference held in Israel will open on March 30, 2009. The purpose of this two-day conference is to showcase Israeli research and innovation in nanotechnology and to bring together a group of world-class experts who are working on the "hottest" technologies in the field. (A few years ago it was biotechnology now Israel is a world leader in Nanotechnology!)
MARRIAGE TRADITION IS ENDORSED BY SAUDI ARABIA'S MOST SENIOR CLERIC Sheikh Abdul-Aziz Al Sheikh has come out and stated that not allowing 10 or 12 year-old girls to marry is "unfair" to the girls. He has also stated that Islamic law has not done any "injustice to women". (Just for the record: the last wife of the Prophet Mohamed was 9 years old.)
NETANYAHU BESTED BRITISH TELEVISION INTERVIEWER THIS WEEK. I guess it can be attributed to Minister Netanyahu's days studying history at MIT. The interviewer asked him: "How come so many more Palestinians have been killed in this conflict than Israelis?" (A nasty question if there ever was one!)
Netanyahu: "Are you sure that you want to start asking in that direction?"
Interviewer: (Falling into the trap) Why not?
Netanyahu: "Because in World War II more Germans were killed than British and Americans combined, but there is no doubt in anyone's mind that the war was caused by Germany's aggression. And in response to the German blitz on London, the British wiped out the entire city of Dresden, burning to death more German civilians than the number of people killed in Hiroshima. Moreover, I could remind you that in 1944, when the R.A.F. tried to bomb the Gestapo Headquarters in Copenhagen, some of the bombs missed their target and fell on a Danish children's hospital, killing 83 little children . Perhaps you have another question?"

DEMERITS TO: OBAMA'S HIGH-RISK ENGAGEMENT AT THE DURBAN REVIEW CONFERENCE - Israel and Canada announced immediately that they would not attend Durban II after the disgrace of Durban I's Israel-Bashng. The Obama Administration's decision to jump into the preparations for the UN's Durban II's Review Conference is a bold but risky move. If the Americans succeed in reversing the agenda so that it actually focuses on discrimination against minorities around the world, and is not another platform for anti-Israel obsession, it would mark a major success and set the stage for restoring U.S. influence and values. Alternatively, if this strategy fails, and the text remains poisonous, an American-led walkout with the 27 members of the EU and some others would delegitimize the Durban process. However, if Washington hesitates and compromises, allowing the Organization of the Islamic Conference and like-minded NGOs to control the agenda, the participation of the world's democracies WILL do immense damage. (Gerald Steinberg for Jerusalem Post)
DEMERITS TO: U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT ENDING SANCTIONS AGAINST IRAN The officials said the new Obama administration of has decided to end sanctions against Iranian government agencies or companies that aid Teheran's missile and nuclear program. The officials said Israel has been informed of the new U.S. policy... "We were told that sanctions do not help the new U.S. policy of dialogue with Iran," an official said. [Ehud] Barak confirmed the new U.S. policy. In an address to the Herzliya Conference on Feb. 3, Barak said Washington did not say whether it would resume sanctions against Iran... Obama decided to end sanctions against Iran after determining that the U.S. measures had failed to block Teheran's missile or nuclear weapons program, officials said. Under the administration of former President George Bush, the United States accelerated sanctions on Iran in 2008.
...A U.S. defense source said the White House would no longer enforce sanctions imposed by the Bush administration. The source said the decision has already been relayed to Iran... "The administration has abandoned sanctions entirely," the U.S. source said. "It is a completely new ballgame."
Similarly, Obama has decided on a new U.S. ambassador to Syria and is expected to lift sanctions against a nation charged with aiding Al Qaida in Iraq and secretly building a nuclear reactor with North Korean assistance... The sources said the Obama administration was expected to suspend U.S. sanctions on Syria's military and energy programs...
THE IRANIAN RESPONSE- Let's not be pig-headed. When your sworn enemy, one who calls for your extermination, approves of your actions, you need to do need to reexamine those actions

Annals of history speak, gloriously of the courage, generosity and deep human understanding behind thousands of years of Iranian history. The first document on human rights dating back to thousands of years speaks clearly of the great glory of the Iranian civilization. Xenophobe has elaborated magnificently on the inspiring model of justice that embodies values and can be the guiding force for others who cherish truth.
The Iranians have been called the 'French of the East'. Civilization owes a lot to their deep influence and contribution in the development of the world as we see it today. Even Alexander of Macedon was deeply moved by their culture and adopted so many Iranian ways that led to the envy of many of his courtiers at home.
The Iranian nation of today has stood shoulder to shoulder in face of all the deprivations imposed on them. Patient, patriotic, civil, courteous and intelligent, willing to learn and explore, deeply religious, forgiving, hard-working and generous, they form strands of the universal culture of which their refined spirit is an inalienable part.
They have endured the storm unleashed by Iraqi ex-dictator Saddam Hussein, tolerated mass murder by chemical weapons, tolerated cycles of accusations and sanctions and yet made progress.
Since the discovery of oil on Iranian soil, they have been unfairly treated. The English, the high profile predators of the vulture culture always remained proud of their 'Rob-in-hood' tactics. The Chinese invented gun powder but considered its use against humans brutal, but the English invented the guns to kill manhood. They always tried to cheat, suppress, exploit and discriminate. They are the evil genius of history who relish in concocting plots.
The connection between Brutus, not the one who betrayed Julius Caesar, but an offspring of Aneas is interesting. Aneas fled to Rome after the defeat of the Greeks by the Trojans, and among whose subsequent children Brutus, according to some accounts founded the British Isles. Eponymously treated, The British Isles should be read Brutish Isles which fits the name of the founder and is also not far from truth. They spearheaded the 1953 coup against then Iranian prime minister Mohammad Mossadegh which was buttered and buttressed by Dwight David Eisenhower.
The operation was code-named Ajax. Ajax besides being described a warrior of majestic height in Greek mythology, has also been called a warrior of a small stature and arrogant character. The Iranian nation was infuriated by the events, and this bad memory of the past impelled Iranians students to first invade and then seize the US embassy and the personnel whom they considered spies. Involving fifty-two hostages, the 444-day crisis came to an end according to the Algiers declaration in January 1981 after an unsuccessful bid by the Carter administration to get them out through a commando operation. Their failure in the Tabas operation was hailed by Iranians as a direct result of divine intervention.
The Bush administration bushed by bushy events had included Iran in its infamous 'Axis of evil'. Oblivious of the fact that Iran was a country with a rich culture and proud civilization. Time and again, Washington deliberately marginalized and tried to belittle Iran by using arrogant language. Again and again Iran has been implicated in funding or arming terrorists. Accusative language of this sort is not foreign to diplomatic jargon where mountains are made out of molehills and heroes out of bandits and scoundrels.
Vietnam fought against the US for sixteen years, but finally despite bloodshed, despite the continuation of the scourge of dioxin contamination from a herbicide known as Agent Orange, and despite birth defects and deformities affecting millions, peace came finally between nations which had learned to hate and considered killing each other a national duty. In 1994, President Bill Clinton lifted the embargo; relations were normalized in July 1995. It began with initially building up trust and progressed to commercial educational and other bilateral issues. This is in spite of the fact that human rights problems and the undemocratic system of government in Vietnam continue to ring bells of alarm on the US side.
North Korea continues to be the longest standing adversary of the US. The United States fought the North in the 1950s and continues to maintain sanctions against it. Relations worsened between them in the 1990s, and in 1994 it was through the efforts of Jimmy Carter, for which he won the Nobel Peace Prize, that a war between the US and North Korea was averted. The two countries pledged to move toward the full normalization of relations. The Agreed Framework averted the war but failed to establish lasting peace. Nevertheless, the two countries have had negotiations in the past and will continue to do so in the future for the sake of peace.
Americans have voted for change. They compromised their moral leadership by invading Iraq. They have always borne blame for overprotecting Israel. They have shunned and branded some democratically elected governments as terrorists. The nation has voted a new president into the White House who seems to be cognizant of moral responsibilities, the ethical obligations and international expectations.
The American nation has shown its will to defend its values on many occasions. First, they won the war of independence against the British colonial masters under the leadership of George Washington on a cold icy night. Then, they won another decisive war against secessionists instigated by racism, under the inspiring leadership of Abraham Lincoln. His historical Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 stemmed from his belief that slavery was a sin and its scourge had to be purged on the battlefield. He believed that every drop of blood drawn with the lash should be paid by another drawn with the sword made the fight for freedom a fight for the survival of democracy, and that bold decision turned the US into the custodian of human rights.
President Barack Obama, the newly elected president of the Unites States has risen from the maelstrom of crises. He seems to have the vision of a leader who wants to undo the many wrongs done by his predecessors. The numerologists in Israel may consider him a poor leader according to their calculations but his declared intention to engage in a dialogue with Iran over the nuclear issue is a gesture of goodwill. It is expected that sanity will prevail and volleys of vitriol let loose from the mind set of professional lobbyists will not result in the derailment of the present trend, that peace will prevail and many converts will be won to the common brotherhood of humanity. For peace many sacrifices have to be made, but first it has to be kept in mind that civilized countries that share a common heritage should consider mutual respect a common denominator for canceling out bitterness of the past.
The US and Iran have not been directly involved in a war that has led to shedding of blood on both sides. If The US can forget about animosity caused by Vietnam War, if the US can sit and talk with North Korea with which it has fought and spilled blood, if the US can talk to China with which it has frayed, then a dialogue with Iran over its nuclear program which Iran has always called its continuation its inalienable right in view of its peaceful nature, and considering the fact that no direct blood-letting duel has taken place, an indication of a possible dialogue does not seem a far-fetched idea of naïve thinking.
Moreover, both countries have the honor of being champions of human rights on the two opposite poles of history. Understanding and faith in goodness can unclog the clogged skepticism of the past. How happy the whole world would be when the fists get unclenched and peace prevails.
AMEN - and thank you President Carter for lighting the present administration's way. (Synoptic review of President Carter's calumny above)
