Scoffers Delude Themselves on Obama's Receipt of the Nobel Peace Prize

John Jay

My smart friends should know better.

I have read many "learned" assertions that the peace price given to Obama, and perhaps even two more awarded other recipients, was a pathological reaction to and continuing hatred of George W. Bush and the path upon which he steered the United States. hus, goes the argument, it makes no difference that Obama "has done nothing" to deserve the prize, and that the reasoning and conclusions which renders all of this sensible is the European leftists' simmering hatred of Bush.

Both conclusions seem to me absurd. These arguments miss the point. Not only do they miss the point, but they are delusional to a harmful extent.

In the first instance, Norwegian and Euro-leftists do not act in a manner which is not calculated to advance their own views of the world, nor of their own schemes and plans as to how it is to be influenced and run. This is not stupidity; it is a rather informed self interest – and Barack Obama has done plenty, which in the view of the "international community" as it views itself, e.g., the European Union and the O.I.C., merits his consideration as a Nobel laureate.

I'm puzzled that so many people do not give credence to what the other guy says to explain his actions, or why they insist upon drawing conclusions as to the other fellow's motives, which are contrary to the plain import of his statements.

Take the Islamic Jihad, for instance. Islamic clerics, commentators, politicians and jihadist fighters have said for years, quite plainly, what their goals are in advancing the jihad. Yet Western intellectuals, religious leaders, politicians, military types and commentators, all more or less learned, have insisted: "No, they are just like us. They don't really mean to conquer and kill us."

So, those who advance the jihad go about killing those of us in the West and are trying like crazy to conquer it.

It is the same with the Nobel Peace prize and those who awarded it. They have said that they have given Barack Obama the Nobel "peace" prize because of what he has said about the way he intends to pursue international relations and U.S. foreign policy. Why does no one simply give them credit for saying, "We like what Obama has said”?

Think for a moment. What has Obama said?

He has said that the U.S. is sensitive to the goals of Islam, and that the U.S. is not sensitive to Israeli positions and analysis in the peace process. He has said, that the U.S. will impose U.S. policy, influence, diplomatic policy ... (and, even by the thinly veiled threats of his subordinates, the imposition of military force) ... to forge a two-state solution to the Middle Eastern conflict that virtually assures the political, diplomatic and demographic destruction of Israel.

In short, to make this abundantly clear: What Obama has plainly voiced is that the U.S. chooses Islam in favor of Israel, Judaism and Western civilization as it has been conducted throughout our history and since Israel became a nation in 1948.

The world cheers and endorses Obama's pro-Islamic Jihad position.

Why?

Because the Europeans have chosen to appease Islam as well, and have premised their entire domestic, economic and diplomatic futures in trying somehow desperately to accommodate Islam and the Muslims, upon the fatally flawed assumption that sooner or later the Muslims will give up their "jihadi mischief" and will assimilate into Euro society while supplying cheap, fungible and depending docile labor for the lazy Europeans. It is the sort of gamble that American politicians have made with the importation of cheap Mexican labor to sustain a lagging U.S. economy, except that at least we were smart enough to pick the Mexicans, who – though far more politically radical than most Americans assume – are not murderous religious fanatics and zealots, as are far too many Muslims for comfort.

Obama has said, (in effect) "We pick the Muslims, and the Jews will go quietly and without a fuss as directed by the U.S. and Europe (and the "international community," e.g., the U.S., the Europeans and the O.I.C.), and this is the "choice" Israel has.

This is what Obama has said, if any of you are paying attention, and, this is what the Euros and the Nobel committee have lauded. This is what has engendered the great relief of the Euro's and the Nobel committee, and this is what Obama has done to deserve the award.

Obama has thrown Israel and the Jews under the bus. The Euros and the Nobel committee have noticed. Have no doubt about it: This is the reason Obama has been given the award. It's not about some simpleton's lingering anger at George Bush.

You may continue to think that the Nobel committee has striven long and hard to make themselves the objects of their own farce. I do not think they have, nor do I think they have in their own view.
In their own view, in their own minds, they acted purposefully and as statesmen in the furtherance of statecraft. Just because you do not share that perception, and just because you refuse to comprehend the purpose and aim of that statecraft does not make the Euros and the Nobel Prize committee idiots. It just makes you someone who cannot recognize truth when presented parboiled with cabbage, dried fish, and served with a bland white sauce.

To paraphrase Oliver Cromwell as he stood before the English Parliament, which would order him drawn and quartered, "I beseech you in the bowels of Christ, think it possible you may be mistaken." Of course, Cromwell knew perfectly well what would be his fate.

Some of you haven't got a clue, and, this makes the fate and position of Israel even more precarious than it already is.

Before this Nobel "peace" prize award, Israel had few friends in the world. Now, it would seem, she has none.
