Ban''s continued mention of Syria in Lebanon related reports "unacceptable" - Ja'afari

This is the Syria who was caught "red-handed" some days ago as part of a multi-group plan to ship weapons from Iran to Hizzbollah BUT now wants the world to back away-read on:

UNITED NATIONS, Nov 11 (KUNA) -- Syria on Wednesday said it is "unacceptable" that Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon continues to refer to Syria in his reports regarding Security Council resolution 1559 which called on all "foreign forces," mainly Syria, to withdraw from Lebanon and to cease intervening in its internal affairs. "We believe that it is no longer acceptalbe for the Secretary-Geneal to introduce the Syrian Arab Republic into his reports on the implementation of resolution 1559 after it has met all its obligations by withdrawing its military forces and intelligence apparatus from Lebanese territory" as confirmed by the council itself, Syrian UN Ambassador Bashar Ja'afari said in letters to Ban and the President of the Security Council, Austria.
"Any outstanding provisions of the resolution are a Lebanese matter and have nothing to do sith Syria," he insisted, adding that "it would have been more useful if the report had clearly cited Israel as the party that has not implemented resolution 1559" by violating Lebanon's sovereignty by air, land and sea.
He noted that, instead, Ban refered to Israel in his most recent report "obliquely" despite countless Lebanese complaints that have been officially documented by the UN and UNIFIL.
Ja'afari called on the council to bring pressure on Israel to compel it to withdraw from the Lebanese territory it continues to occupy, including the Shab'a Farms, the Kafr Shuba hills and the northern part of the village of Ghajar.
He reiterated that the demarcation of the Syrian-Lebaense borders is a "bilateral matter and a sovereign prerogative of the two countries, in which no party has the right to interfere." He complained that the report reiterates "false assertions" regarding arms smuggling across the border, even though Lebanese officials confirmed that "no such activities have taken place." Finally Ja'afari complained that the international officials responsible for the implementation of resolution 1559 who prepared the report, mainly Terje Roed-Larsen who he did not mention by name, "demonstrated a lack of impartiality, overstepped their mandates and misled the Security Council."
