Hamas Celebrates Olmert's Remarks on 'Greater Israel'

(IsraelNN.com) A Hamas web site reported Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's remarks about the "delusions" of those Jews who believe Greater Israel can be maintained with glee. "Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert has acknowledged on Monday that the Israeli dream of establishing the 'greater Israel' and the 'Jewish state' were hard to attain," the site reports. Those two things [greater Israel and the Jewish state] couldn’t be found together except in the minds of the psychologically sick people and unrealistic people, Olmert was quoted as saying in a speech he delivered before the foreign affairs and security committee in the Israeli Knesset Monday."

The Hamas report continues, translating Olmert's speech liberally: "I was among those who didn’t believe in the two-state solution, but I realize now that it was wrong. Most of the Israelis now understand the difference between a two-state solution and the one-state solution where all citizens are equal."
