Using civilians as humans shields:launching rockets at Israel from locations close to buildings and schools

IICC

1. Hanan al-Masri , an Al-Arabiya TV correspondent who works in the station's offices in Gaza City , recounted that during Operation Cast Lead at the end of December, a Grad rocket was launched at Israel from under the building she worked in, located in the heart of the city. She said she heard a very loud noise and thought it was an Israeli Air Force attack. However, it turned out that it was the sound of a122mm Grad rocket being fired from under the building.2. On January 18, 2009 , after Israel announced it would hold its fire, terrorists fired rockets into Israel from close to a school. On the outskirts of the Saja'iya neighborhood in the eastern part of Gaza City , the Israeli Air Force identified a launcher from which the rockets had been fired into Israel , positioned between two school buildings. The Israeli Air Force did not attack the launcher because of its proximity to school buildings .

3. These are additional proof of the policy employed by Hamas and the other terrorist organizations to fire rockets at populated areas in Israel from within densely-populated areas, near houses, schools, public institutions and mosques. Done to make it difficult for Israel to respond, it endangers civilians and exposes them to technical mishaps which are liable to harm them, and to the possibility of an Israeli reprisal.

Comment: Not only do we have eye witness reports by our soldiers, Gazan citizens that Hamas was using human shields, we have their own news media and fighters indicating the same. Hamas has violated so many international laws, the proof is in. Now, if the media play this differently and/or attempt to switch the discussion to lay blame and accusations at our feet we shall hold these "journalists accountability for misrepresentation and hold them in contempt of justice.
