No academic freedom in Israel, look what's going on inside our country!

Tel Aviv University Shlomo Sand (Dept of History) is at it again

One thing is for certain after viewing this broadcast: Shlomo Sand is at it again, vying for the number-one spot as Israel's worst member of the academic fifth column. Sand's infamous "book," called The Invention of the Jewish People, stirred anger among real historians in Israel and around the world. He gave this interview about his book, now being broadcast worldwide and shown continuously on the Internet via You Tube. There he once again explains how he determined that today's Jews are not a people at all, but are instead a 19th century invention created to steal the land of Israel away from the Arabs. Although it was originally broadcast back in November 2009, most of the world missed an interview with Tel Aviv University "history" professor Shlomo Sand. It appeared on satellite television on a slickly produced television show called "
The Real Deal." It was circulated by moonbette Dorothy Naor, the doyenne of New Profile. [Naor is a frequent contributor to Haifa University's Aleph Chat List.]

Of significance is the fact that the interview is conducted by George Galloway, the former Mayor of London and former member of British Parliament (he lost his seat in the recent elections), who has hitched his fortunes to his beloved mentor and employer Saddam Hussein. Galloway recently led the International Solidarity Movement's Viva Palestina tour that brought money and material aid to Hamas in Gaza. Like Shlomo Sand, Galloway did an interview on Arab television where he admitted the aid he supplies Gaza does not go to any innocent children. He defiantly stated the money was destined for use by the terrorist group Hamas. Just before that Galloway toured the United States, where he raised 1.5 million dollars for Hamas on US college campuses, even though it is against US laws. But to Shlomo Sand, Galloway is just another "reporter" helping him peddle his "book."

The media outlet that then broadcast this interview and provided facilities for it is Press TVIran. Press TV is a propaganda arm of the Mullahs and Ayatollahs. In all likelihood some or all of Press TV's "reporters" are Iranian agents. Hamas and HezbAllah receive money from the Shiite rogue state, which has threatened Israel with extermination.

So here we have a tenured history professor from Tel Aviv University, supported by the Israeli taxpayer's dime, one who not only denies the very existence of the Jewish people, who claims they were invented to steal "Palestine" from the Arabs and Muslims, but who now serves as a new Tokyo Rose for Iran!!

Asked by Galloway during the interview about Israel's right to exist, Sand states that he "could not find even one book" about the Roman exile of the Jews into the Diaspora and declares it a myth. That pretty much proves that Sand, an expert on the history of the French cinema, has yet to read a single Jewish history book.

Galloway pontificates with Sand during the interview, "The Jewish people were not exiled ever as they make in their tendentious claim to justify the right of return thousands of years later is necessarily invalid. To which Sand replies, right on cue, "Even if it was an exile, it can't justify the Zionist colonization."

Colonization? Well, we think the time has come for Tel Aviv University to end Sand's own colonization of lands that do not belong to him and evict him, perhaps to Iran, where he can work for their TV station and produce documentaries on the French cinema.

Sand then goes in the interview on to claim that Jews in Israel today were all converts, and so have no "Jewish blood." I guess that means there is nothing wrong with the terrorists he supports spilling some of it. Sand goes on to say his book is a "bestseller" in Israel. He has been saying so for months. It is a blatant lie. The book is not even carried by most book stores and total sales in Israel are a four digit number. His book does not appear on a single list of bestseller books in the Hebrew internet. "A lot of young people have the book in Israel and continue to read it. The historians were very angry about my book." A lot may mean the hapless Tel Aviv University students in his courses forced to read it.
