Confirmed: Nasrallah lied to Ahmadinejad

Israel Matzav

Remember how I questioned whether the rifle presented by Hezbullah chieftain Hassan Nasrallah to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad could have come from an IDF soldier in the Second Lebanon War? Well, all of you who got it right can pat yourselves on the back. Yedioth (apparently only on the Hebrew side - I can't find it on the English side) and Lebanon's Naharnet are now confirming that Nasrallah lied to Ahmadinejad.

The mass-selling Yediot Aharonot said the gun, which Nasrallah presented to Ahmadinejad in person on his controversial two-day visit to Lebanon, was a type of weapon not been used by the Israeli military since the early 1970s.

The paper quoted a military spokesperson as saying the weapon was "most likely" a FNFAL 7.62 rifle that went out of use in 1974, meaning it could not have been taken from soldiers during Israel's more recent invasion of Lebanon.

A military spokesman contacted by AFP declined to comment on the report.

Liar, liar, pants on fire!

Comment: So is there honor among terrorists? I guess not or if yes, it is a new definition of honor. Amazing how brazen they are and yet feel no sense of shame. I mention this to point out again the cultural differences that exist between the West and the ME. This means that each play s by a different set of rules. This also suggests that the cultures hold different values, interpret events, circumstances and people differently. Best we understand this quickly.
