Welcome, DHS agents!

Jihad Watch

I've just learned that the Department of Homeland Security has Jihad Watch under surveillance, along with a broad spectrum of sites all over the ideological and political map, including Live Leak, Vimeo, Youtube, Flickr, Counter-Terrorism Blog, Danger Room, Drudge Report, Foreign Policy, Global Security Newswire, Google Blog Search, Homeland Security Today, Huffington Post, LongWarJournal, MEMRI, Newsweek Blogs, NYTimes Lede Blog, Plowshares Fund, Popular Science Blogs, Science Daily, STRATFOR, Technorati, Terror Finance Blog, and many, many others. Clearly there is no commonality here -- in other words, the DHS isn't just watching anti-jihad sites, or conservative sites. The explanation given is this: "This is a representative list of sites that the NOC [National Operations Center] will start to monitor in order to provide situational awareness and establish a common operating picture under this Initiative. Initial sites listed may link to other sites not listed. The NOC may also monitor those sites if they are within the scope of this Initiative."

Welcome, agents! Grab a cup of coffee and stay awhile. Read around in the archives and articles. You might just learn something, if you dare to think outside the politically correct intellectual straitjacket enforced at the DHS these days. Go ahead. Dare to embrace the truth.

Here is a pdf that contains the list of sites that the DHS is monitoring. Jihad Watch is on page 16, right under, ironically enough, Informed Comment.

"DHS Creates Accounts Solely to Monitor Social Networks," by Olivia Katrandjian for ABC News, December 28, 2011 (thanks to C.Z.):

An online privacy group is suing the U.S. Department of Homeland Security accusing it of not releasing records from the agency's covert surveillance of Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites.

The DHS creates accounts solely to monitor social media sites and establish a system of records of the information gathered. The agency does not post information, seek to connect with other users, accept invitations to connect or interact with others according to a statement on their website.

How reassuring!

At least American patriots might have a chance to support a true conservative (no Trotskyite neo-progressivist, that is) who wouldn't hesitate to abolish this useless Big Gov department..

My thoughts exactly ! Peekaboo, DHS, keep your ear to the ground on JW, because the basic truths you're about to find here about Islam are as plain as the nose on your face !

If you have ever used DSL broadband from QWest there is nice provision where you contractually agree to waive your right to object to government spying on your computer at home and to having all your private digital data sucked up by Big Bad Brother to rummage through to their hearts content. (I think it includes the right to barge in and grab connected computers, if it is used for something or other.) It is apparently not enough to simply log every digital bit sent to and fro. No warrant is needed, which is the whole point. I guess we could call it a cost saving measure, so that judges need not be bothered. QWest was required by federal law to insert the contractual provision -- you see, because they are a regulated entity . . . then you/we become regulated too.

The minders are computers. Sort of like gods, but with a more genuine manifestation even if they never reveal themselves.

I have long thought that commenting here was the most direct way to talk to CAIR and OIC and Ms. Clinton (and maybe Qaradawi too). I like pointing them to relevant court cases, in the interest of enlightenment and conversion/proselytization.

Yes, welcome! But since the "Truth About Muhammad" & company is spoken here, then it could come as quite a shock to their intellectual straightjackets; so perhaps a better choice might be ginko biloba, which helps stimulate blood-flow to the brain. Hey every little bit helps, right? :)

I could not find the terms Earthquake Tornado or 911. They might add these terms to make it appear more apolitical. I guess terms that can be called acts of god rather than acts of man do not fit the PC-filter.

We obviously cannot accept that you-know-who become offended in the case of mainly you-know-who being targets of counter-terrorism efforts and surveillance, and therefore it is only fair that said efforts are spread across a wide spectrum and become less effective in the process while being politically correct towards you-know-who.

There! .....I'm not sure I understood that one myself, though. Never mind, it's not being uppity towards you-know-who that matters.

Yes, indeed. The more rational agents may very well learn something—glad to know you are reading here!

On the other hand, if you are looking for nefarious or dangerous activity, you will likely—with the exception of comments by the few Jihad-minded Muslim trolls who periodically post here—find yourselves bored to tears...
