A letter to the PM

This letter was sent to Netanyahu  by Salomon Benzimra, co-founder of Canadians for Israel’s Legal Rights (CILR).
It is about the hostage issue-and-punishment, and putting the imperative of strong action as stated in UNSC Res.1566. We hope Netanyahu contemplate the suggestion.

Please help and bring to the attention of the appropriate circles in Israel and beyond.

Inaction or nonsensical action at this time would be fatal for the future of Israel and for all Jewry.
We are already seeing what is going on in Israel today.

Subject: re: Response to the murdered hostages:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,
Jerusalem, Israel.

Dear Mr. Prime Minister,

re: Response to the murdered hostages:

We share the grief of the Frenkel, Yifrach and Saar families, and the Israeli population as a whole in these trying days.  The past cannot be undone but justice must be served to those savages who know not justice; to the perpetrators, the accomplices, the inciters and their leaders.

I urge you, Mr. Prime Minister, to be strong and firm. And to not succumb to the preachers of “restraint” or to the myopic moderation of international law scholars who usually warn against “disproportionate action” and “collective punishment.”

In that regard, please consider the binding UNSC Resolution 1566 passed under Chapter VII in October 2004 which states in Article 3:

“[the Security Council] Recalls that criminal acts, including against civilians, committed with the intent to cause death or serious bodily injury, or taking of hostages, with the purpose to provoke a state of terror in the general public or in a group of persons or particular persons, intimidate a population or compel a government or an international organization to do or to abstain from doing any act, which constitute offences within the scope of and as defined in the international conventions and protocols relating to terrorism, are under no circumstances justifiable by considerations of a political, philosophical, ideological, racial, ethnic, religious or other similar nature, and calls upon all States to prevent such acts and, if not prevented, to ensure that such acts are punished by penalties consistent with their grave nature. (emphasis added)

When the “taking of hostages” is immediately followed by premeditated murder, the “grave nature of these acts” is beyond dispute and the penalties should be “consistent” with the crime and not unduly circumscribed by resorting to a weak, token response.

In the Gilad Shalit episode, Hamas tacitly recognized the 1,000/1 exchange ratio. Perhaps the same ratio should be kept in mind when considering a just retribution for the three murdered Israeli teenagers.

Most respectfully,

Salomon Benzimra, P.Eng.

Once again Israel is under bombardment by Islamic terrorists and Neanderthal killers who have Jew hatred burned into their hearts and minds from birth. There is an equally pernicious and corrosive propaganda campaign by the media, leftists and governments worldwide to make this all seem that the root cause is Israeli "occupation" and that the cure-all is to give into demands and to give away land to make Israel indefensible and susceptible to the another Holocaust of the kind that the Islamic world aims to create in Israel as they prepare the ground for the new Caliphate in other parts of the Middle East and Africa. As Sharon said, there is only one terrorist, meaning that all terrorists operate under their Koranic rule book and all have Jews, Christians, “infidels,” and most everyone else in the crosshairs for slaughter/ butchery. The media side show of making all acts (terrorism = defense against terrorism) morally equivalent – the fire fighter is to blame in the same way as the arsonist who started the fire – is deplorable and sick…we have become a world that goes out of its way to tolerate the intolerable and strives to find fault with and hate the virtues of Judeo-Christian society. We hate the good and forcefully find love in our hearts for evil.
