The Second Exodus

Nurit Greenger

Almost posthumously it was brought to the publish knowledge that late Professor Benzion Netanyahu, the man who fathered Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was a modest man but a power house in the Zionist movement.  He was one of those who took his words literally and converted them into deeds.  He did not make promises he could not fulfill.  Benzion Netanyahu z"l was driven by his fundamental Benzionists.

Benzion Netanyahu was part of a group of people we can collectively, call 'Moses.'  They recognized that the Jewish herd must be gathered and brought back to his corral-home, or the Jewish nation will be lost forever.  These leaders knew that only real leadership will gather the Jewish people back in their homeland.  It took an enormous and relentless efforts, with great obstinacy, and they were adamant to yield success.  They were driven by their commitment, they made to themselves, to save the Jews by making it possible to bring the homeless Jewish nation, that was shoved from country to country for 2000 years, to a safe port; back to its land, which they believed God allocated to them, from which they were expelled and to which they yearned to return.

Each Zionist leaded made his or her own impact.  Together, they took the Jews out of Egypt and brought them to the promised land.  Together they lead, by example, the second exodus from the European Egypt.

It was a process.  Zionism Ethos trickled from one Jews home to another. It was like the presence of God in Egypt that passed on the Jewish homes and killed the first born Egyptian boys only; it was an osmosis process that was building up.

Some Jewish homes adopted Zionism fast, some were slow at the process and some did not join at all.

My father was born in Warsaw, Poland. His family joined the Zionist movement right away. All family members names were Hebrew names; they spoke Hebrew at home and they were strengthened by the fact that they could look forward to making it to Israel as soon as the conditions were ripe. As soon as they could get there. Hitler beat them to it; he took away their lives before they could materialize their Zionist dream.

From his entire family my father was the only one who lived his Zionist dream. In 1942 he made it to British mandatory Palestine of pre-Israel and he joined a group of Jewish pioneers who were due to establish a kibbutz in northern Israel as soon as the ground was conditioned and prepared. My father, his name was Israel-Yisrael, cleared and flattened the rocky land, he built the Kibbutz members' first homes and he built the Kibbutz first cattle herd. My father was deeply in love with the land; it was HIS.

My mother was born in Ivenits, a shtetle southeast of Vilna, Poland.  Her parents were skeptics of the Zionist movement and their eyes were focused on America, where some of the family already lived and to where they planned to immigrate. My mother, however, caught the Zionist bug. Against her family will and approval, she became a devout Zionist. She became a member Ha'Shomer Ha'Tsair, a Socialistic-Zionist youth movement, founded in 1913 in Galicia, Austria-Hungry, with its local members she spent most of her free time yearning for Zion. My mother's family did not make it to America, as they planned  They were part of the list of Six Million Jews whose lives Hitler ended before their time.

By a miracle, my mother survived the Holocaust and made it to Israel where she found her safe island away from the soaked with Jewish blood Europe.

I was raised in a Zionist home and the Zionism ethos that meant pride, not despise. Zionist ethos is what churned the progress of the Jewish state. No one had to teach me Zionism, as it was in the vein of every Israeli, at least until 1967.

Among those who installed the Zionist spirit and ethos are well known names of well known leaders: Theodor Herzl, the founding father of the modern political Zionist movement, Chaim Arlosoroff, David Ben-Gurion, Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, Menachem Begin, Abba Eban, Zeev Jabotinsky, publicist, leader of Revisionist Zionism, Golda Meir, Max Nordau, Leon Pinsker, Abraham Stern, Nahum Syrkin, Joseph Trumpeldor, Chaim Weizmann, and even Orde Wingate, a non-Jew, British army officer who trained the Haganah and others.  And these leaders had followers, like my mother and my father and many, many like them.

Through simple messages of hope and determination they gathered the lost nation from the four corners of the world and the message was clear, come home and have the ability to defend yourselves. Come home and build your homeland.

The time has come to save Israel from itself. Because if Zionism dies, then Israel will eventually die too.

Post Zionism means de-Judaising the Jewish State Israel.

In this case, this means the end of Jews who make up the citizenry of the state of Israel. Because the Arabs' goal of then and now is to end Israel's existence and to drive all Jews to the sea, meaning to kill them.

Israel's legal rights to its legal ownership of the land is not a diplomatic collateral; the Government of Israel has no right to withhold knowledge of the Jewish Nation's Legal Rights to the land, which is exactly what it is doing. The result, youths in Israel, who are the country's future leadership, grow up totally oblivious of the fact that Israel’s legal rights to the land stretch from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea and it is not for negotiation. Israel's legal rights to its legal ownership of the land, from the [Jordan] River to the [Mediterranean] Sea is the 11th Commandment.

The era of territorial compromise has come a full circle and must end.

Post-Zionism must be fought and be archived away for the end of times.

For it was the Zionist spirit that built the Jewish state that we marvel today. One cannot wipe the Zionist movement in favor of the Arabs who, illegally occupy Jewish land; yes, right now, today, they are occupying Jewish land on which they have squatted for years.  Due to the Jewish nation's benevolence they were allowed to remain living on the Jewish land they occupy, rather than being kicked out as all other nations would have done, under the same circumstance, so long ago.

In his latest article, ‘Haaretz’ vs the Jews, http://www.jpost.com/Opinion/Columnists/Article.aspx?id=268649, Dr. Martine Sherman states that the advance of post-Zionism is the greatest menace confronting the Jewish state and the Zionist endeavor of today. Everything it stands for, everything it has already accomplished and everything it still strives to accomplish is in jeopardy now.  It is imperative not to be lulled into a false sense of security that post-Zionism has lost its traction; it has not and it standing in the wing to proceed with its endeavor to destroy the nation state of the Jewish people from within.

Zionism is far from having achieved its goal to settle all of the land of Israel from [Jordan] Rive to the [Mediterranean] Sea.

Do not destroy the Zionist movement and its ethos because its destruction, caused by myopic Jews, will bring about the downfall of the state of Israel and along with her Israel will take down all the Jewry, wherever Jews may reside.
