Abu Ras calls on Muslim scholars to issue an edict banning recognition of Israel

From Arab media:

GAZA, (PIC)-- Dr. Marwan Abu Ras, the chairman of the Palestinian Scholars League, has urged the Muslim Ulama (religious scholars) to issue a clear-cut edict prohibiting recognition of the Hebrew state. He told a workshop organized on Saturday evening in Gaza city on the autumn conference that the Muslim Ulama should have their say in what is going on in the region, in reference to the Annapolis conference.

They (Ulama) should not stand idle vis-à-vis such fateful questions of the Muslim Umma (Nation) especially in Palestine, Abu Ras asserted.

He decreed that whoever recognized Israel should be regarded as an apostate, and added that the right of return for Palestinian refugees should never be surrendered in the Annapolis conference, which he described as a forum for public relations.
The PSL chairman said that the Ulama must also issue a religious edict confirming Muslims' right to the Aqsa Mosque.

He also asked all politicians to stick to national constants especially the right of return, Jerusalem and resistance, in its capacity as a legitimate right, and affirmed that his League never authorized anyone to cede any of those rights.

Comment: This is a significant announcement as it proclaims, once and for all, this is about Islam. We are holding land and property that belongs to Islam, so say our enemies. This is not covered by the western media and thus you have missed the root cause of the difficulties here. Israel is the canary in the mine, we are still singing.
