Fayad: Israel should take 'bold steps' to forge Palestinians' trust. Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayad said in an interview Saturday that it's time for bold Israeli steps ahead of the US-hosted Mideast conference, including releasing 2,000 of the more than 12,000 Palestinians held in Israeli jails.
Fayad told The Associated Press that Israel must do more to try to create trust among Palestinians.
"I think we need to really begin to see some bold moves in the direction of dealing with those issues of the here and now, for the people to buy into the process," he said. "We need to rekindle signs of hope after years of deterioration."
Fayad said Palestinian negotiators have asked Israel to release 2,000 Palestinian prisoners ahead of the conference, to be held in coming weeks in Annapolis, Maryland. "We feel this is one area where a lot more can be done than has been done so far," he said.
Comment: Guess where he got the idea that Israel must take bold steps-from the West-its ongoing, unrelenting nonsense asking and then demanding that we take further steps to bolster Abbas and company. You see, he understands this kind of demand resonates in the West, for heaven's sake it originated in the West. Well, study your history-we have done just this-beginning with the "land for peace" failed strategy of 40 years. Every single time, we have demonstrated and/or promoted some "trust" building activity, we are rewarded with attacks, aberrant actions and failure. They in turn are reinforced but there is no change in their behavior. Psych 101-behavior that is reinforced continues. ENOUGH! If this wasn't so serious it would be laughable. How about the Palestinians, for once, reciprocate and then do so every day for a month to develop trust with us!

The Palestinians are champions in Hasbarah (Propaganda) they repeat and say things until the people believe in them.
Maybe all the pro Israel Blog's around can make the difference
You are correct-Israel still does not understand the importance of this aspect of war-some of us are doing our best to awaken a sleeping population. Thank you for your comment-doc
