Op-ed-S.T.A.N.D.

Bishop Jackson

Dear Friends,

I must admit that I cannot listen to an Obama speech. When you realize that what the man speaks are either outright lies or obfuscations intended to hide the truth, listening to him is a nauseating waste of time. I do however read what he says. If you want a lesson in Obama-speak, read his speech this morning to the UN. Here are a few observations on his remarks and the UN meeting:1. Muammar Gaddafi loves Obama. He spent several minutes praising Obama, calling him a “son”. He said he hopes Obama remains President of the U.S. forever. Obama may very well entertain those ambitions himself. When a proud terrorist says he loves a President, we’ve clearly elected the wrong person.

2. Michael Gerson, former Deputy Assistant to Bush, said, Obama’s speech, “conveyed weakness in every pore.” He also said Obama has one message, “I am the answer”. Gerson called it “one of the most narcissistic approaches to American leadership I’ve ever seen…”

3. Obama used the word “I” 36 times, and “me” once. Its all about him. For example, he said in the opening “I am well aware of the expectations which accompany my presidency around the world.” Maybe that’s the problem. He’s more interested in pleasing the world than in serving America.

4. Once again the speech had numerous apologies. He said, “For those of you who question the character and cause of my nation, I ask you to look at the concrete actions we have taken in just nine months.” He is asking a bunch of thugs and terrorists to please forgive us for our past, because we’re good people now that the great Obama has taken over. Frankly, it’s disgusting. That’s why I can’t listen to him. Then he goes on with numerous “I”’s. “I’ve done this and I’ve done that and I’ve appointed this one and I’ve appointed that one. He’s begging these ne’er-do-wells to please like us.

5. Here’s another apology and another lie. “No one nation can or should try to dominate another nation.” Why is he trying to pressure Israel to stop settlement building? So I guess he means we won’t be hard on Iran or N.Korea, but we’ll lower the boom on Israel.

6. You’ll love this one: “Democracy cannot be imposed on any nation from the outside. Each society must search for its own path, and no path is perfect. Each country will pursue a path rooted in the culture of its people and in its past traditions.” In other words, Democracy and freedom are not superior to other forms of government.

7. Once again he criticizes our country: “I admit that America has too often been selective in its promotion of democracy. But that does not weaken our commitment; it only reinforces it. [We] will never waver in our efforts to stand up for the right of people everywhere to determine their own destiny.” Oh really? He didn’t “stand up” for the Iranian people’s right to determine their own destiny when they had taken to the streets. I have never heard anyone more comfortable talking out of both sides of his mouth.

8. This is the worst of all. He wants an “independent Palestinian state” and an end to “the occupation that began in 1967” “Occupation”? His use of that word tells us where he is coming from. The only potential the Palestinian people have shown so far is terrorism and Intifada. They could change our minds about that by acknowledging that Jews are human beings with a right to live in peace and security in Israel. I remain convinced that all negotiation by the Palestinians are merely a strategy for reaching the ultimate objective of destroying Israel. I don’t think that any “roadmap” or “two state solution” will alter that reality.

In sum Obama blamed America for everything from the so called “climate crisis”, to nuclear proliferation, to hurting other nations in the selfish pursuit of our own national interests. According to him and the loony left, we were an evil force in the world until he came along. So we and Israel need to be brought down to the level of every other nation. It’s just not fair that we are stronger and more prosperous. Its not their fault they are poor. It has nothing to do with their systems of government and values. Its our fault.

One final thought. When Pres. Obama speaks of nuclear disarmament, he’s talking about unilateral disarmament. Its time to take a STAND!

I am working very hard on the website, but it’s going slower than I had hoped. It’s more important that it reflect excellence than that we rush it out. Thank you for your support and contributions
