Reacting to the Obama Administration's Outburst‏

[Given the situation that Israeli ambassador Michael Oren describes as US-Israel relations being at their lowest ebb in 35 years, I decided to depart from the usual use of this list to send out alerts about newspaper articles and pass along June Neal's email.

I'll also note the Israel Project has a web page set up at which enables you to simultaneously send a letter to several public officials as well as whichever Connecticut newspapers you select.]

Alan, I tried to send this to the entire PRIMER list but it wouldn't go through. Could you kindly forward it? Alan, this is an excellent letter because it goes to the real issue: the incident was a convenient way to kick Israel in the butt, and, absent the news release, Obama/Biden/Clinton would have used something else. Israel--and American Jews--are now working with a U.S. administration that is not on our side.

Israel's announcement coming at the same time that the Arabs chose to hold off their disgusting naming of a public square after a butcher until Biden's departure is no coincidence.

1) AIPAC members should contact AIPAC leadership immediately as Hillary is a confirmed speaker at the upcoming conference, along with Netanyahu. They talk to her directly--and they must know how we feel about the damage that has been done. (AIPAC hasn't come out that strong on this controversy.) I wonder if Hillary will do a u-turn, considering her audience?

I want Hillary to answer this question: Why did she and Biden (Obama) make a megillah of an announcement of a perfectly legal housing development, a non-issue, yet stand silent on the Arabs naming a public square after a butcher, tantamount to extolling genocide.

2) I think we should send letters of praise to Netanyahu for standing strong, emphasizing American Jews' commitment to Israel no matter what this administration might say or do.

Welcome back
June

I agree. I don't think the outburst had anything to do with what Israel did. I think they had that planned a long time ago...they were just trying to find something to blame it on.

his is no surprise-Obama's policies over the last 12 months are anti-Israel, pro-Arab. Note the lack of mention re: 14 months Arabs have chosen not to talk with us. Note that not one word said about the naming of a square by a murderer. Time for American Jews to have a heart-heart with themselves-is Israel important to you and if yes, then you can no longer even think of supporting this President. doc
