“We have no trust at all that Israel can conduct an objective probe."

Turkey's Foreign Ministry said Wednesday it has formed a committee to look into Israel's raid on a Gaza-bound aid ship. The panel headed by the foreign and justice ministers will "assess the national and international dimensions" of the raid and prepare the ground for a possible international investigation.

It said the committee, which includes maritime officials, has met twice since it was formed Monday.

Turkey was quick to dismiss the internal Israeli committee set up on Monday and set to meet for the first time on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Ya'acov Terkel.

Turkey said that Israel could not be impartial, with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu saying, “We have no trust at all that Israel” can conduct an objective investigation.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reportedly dispatched an envoy to Washington to discuss the matter with US President Barack Obama, amid concern that Ankara might sever diplomatic ties with Israel over the matter.

Comment: This was a given from the beginning. Turkey can continue to have front-center stage by first demanding an "independent" review and the media is obliging. The longer Israel waits to begin its review, the more front page space we give the Turks. Do not hesitate any longer-begin now that you committed to it. Regardless, a parade of 'witnesses" will be slowly brought before the Turkish committee and again media will play along. No one mentions that the very reasons Turkey says it cannot trust Israel applies to them as well-notice however, the abject silence from Israel to say this publicly. Stop playing nice Israel, you appear weak and indecisive. Attack them now-by this I mean PR tactics must change tomorrow. Someone in the group of 7 stand before cameras tomorrow and say "How hypocritical of Turkey to turn around and open their own committee while indicating we cannot be trusted-your behavior from the beginning has been confrontational, intentional and now this media event. Yet, you have the audacity to claim we are not honest? Amazing your chutspah!"

Folks, until you get tough with the enemies, they will walk all over you. BTW prepare for "humanitarians on board" to appear all over Europe on the lecture tour; ready yourself for invitations to USA campuses to tell their story. If the countries had any courage and ethics, they would deny visas. Of course we know how the left would respond to this action-I say who cares-do what is proper to protect the country!
