One of Fatah's official Facebook pages chose to glorify Saddam Hussein recently by posting the following picture with the caption: "How many people love this hero?"

[Facebook "Fatah - The Main Page, accessed Aug. 21, 2013, posted Aug. 8, 2013]
As of today, the picture got 1,439 Facebook "likes" and 111 people wrote words of praise in the comments section.

This is not the first time that Saddam Hussein has been honored by Fatah. Earlier this year, Palestinian Media Watch documented that the same Fatah Facebook page posted two pictures of Saddam Hussein portraying him as a hero:

[Facebook, "Fatah - The Main Page," Dec. 20, 2012]

Caption: "He smiled to deny the enemy the pleasure of victory. May Allah have mercy on you, Saddam Hussein."
In this picture, Saddam Hussein is shown in uniform, holding a rifle, with the following text glorifying him:

[Facebook, "Fatah - The Main Page," Dec. 30, 2012]
Caption: "Today, December 30, 2012, is the sixth anniversary of the death of the hawk of the Arabs and the lion of the Tigris and Euphrates: As we walked we knew that the gallows were in fact the ladder of faith for the glorified Field Marshal Martyr (Shahid) President Saddam Hussein."

Comment:  The reason this post as well as future posts are PIP is quite simple. The mind set, the supporting culture, societal belief system and thus policy outcomes are not conducive to any peace in real terms. The leaders of the Arabs in Gaza and in the disputed territories are not prepared for co-existence.  Any one who understands sociology, psychology and/or cultural concepts knows that groups must not only yearn for peace but they must have the requisite support structures. Sadly I say, they are not even close to meet these minimum requirements!! Wanting something for others is not enough-any parent knows what I am talking about-those who reject this ntion have their own personal agendas! At this moment in time PIP.
