The Chances of Peace a re Zero

by Elad Benari
The latest round of peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA) will fail as have past rounds, predicted Professor Avraham Diskin, a professor at the Political Science Department of the Hebrew University . He said that the reason that talks are doomed to fail is because the PA does not wish to reach an agreement...
Noting the peace agreement signed between Israel and Egypt in 1979, Professor Diskin said that in this case, both sides held serious negotiations and it was clear that both sides had the intention of reaching an agreement. The PA Arabs, however, display the opposite behaviour, he added.

"Israel saved the PLO from collapsing with the Oslo Accords," said Diskin, noting the Camp David talks in 2000 in which then Prime Minister Ehud Barak offered then PA Chairman Yasser Arafat a groundbreaking offer which Arafat refused. The same goes for talks between then Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas in 2009, when Olmert offered Abbas 94% of Judea and Samaria and Abbas refused.
Diskin mentioned Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's unprecedented step of freezing construction in Judea and Samaria in his last term, as well as being the first prime minister who supported the two state solution. Even these steps failed to bring the PA back to the negotiating table, bringing Diskin to conclude that the PA leadership has not missed any tricks in order to lose the opportunity for serious negotiations.
Diskin further stated that the world does not understand what is happening and prefers to be fed by Israeli commentators and thus determine that Israel is to blame for the stalled negotiations...
Food for Thought by Steven Shamrak
Non-Muslim worship is banned, under the threat of death, in Saudi Arabia . Religious minorities, even Islamic ones, are persecuted in most Muslim countries. But they have audacity (chutzpa) to accuse the West of Islamophobia, which is quite moderate and justifiable considering the number of terror attacks Judaists committed again the West during the last fifty years.
Spokeswoman for EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, responded to Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon's decision to suspend contacts with the EU in the West Bank, saying "The EU is concerned by reports in the Israeli media that the Israeli Minister of Defense has announced a number of restrictions affecting EU activities supporting the Palestinian people." Due to the Israel's restrictions  on EU activity in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip, several European staffers had failed to receive permits to enter the Palestinian-ruled Gaza Strip. (Why must Israel facilitate anti-Semitic support for the fake "Palestinian people"?)
One Can't Make It Up
Turkish authorities detained a bird on suspicion it was spying for Israel , but freed it after X-rays showed it was not embedded with surveillance equipment. The kestrel aroused suspicion because of a metal ring on its foot carrying the words "24311 Tel Avivunia Israel . (It is not the first time a Muslim country made such an idiotic anti-Israel performance)
Why is the US Embassy still in Tel Aviv?
Members of the Congressional Israel Allies Caucus have introduced legislation in the United States Congress that would move the US embassy, which is now located in Tel Aviv, to Israel's capital Jerusalem. The bill is the latest attempt to put pressure on the Obama administration to implement the US law and to acknowledge Jerusalem as Israel's capital, a step the administration and past administrations have been unwilling to take.
Violence Can be Used Against Islamists, but not by Israel
The Egyptian Health Department reported 29 Muslim Brotherhood protesters killed, 650 injured - less than the more than 100 dead and 4,000 injured claimed by the Brotherhood from what it reported was live fire against its supporters around Cairo's Rabaa al-Adawiya mosque early Saturday, July 27.
Shin Bet Warning Ignored
Shin Bet head Yoram Cohen warned government ministers at the weekly Cabinet session against releasing terrorists as a "gesture" to the PA - but the ministers voted to do so anyway. Cohen explained that the release of terrorist prisoners would diminish security "both in the immediate threat to the public, and because of the erosion in deterrence." "The chance that the prisoners will go back to terrorism is relatively large," he said.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has announced plans to impose sanctions against Hizbullah that will see all arms of the group being labelled as a terrorist organization. The Saudi Arabian daily Al-Watan reported that the GCC views Hezbollah as a monolithic organization and "does not differentiate between Hizbullah's military and political wings." This is a direct reference to the European Union's decision to place only Hezbollah's military wing on the list of terrorist entities.
Some 400 haredi and religious youth will enlist to the Netzah Yehuda regiment and to a new haredi infantry regiment currently being established. A survey showed 90% said it is important for them to excel in their position, and that 72% of the haredi soldiers think they benefit from their service, and 76% consider their service helpful for their future. (For many years the issue has been skilfully used by Israel's left to divide the Jewish people and undermine the national unity!)

Islamist rebel groups fighting Syrian President Bashar Assad have been helped by thousands of foreign terrorists, from elsewhere in the Middle East and from as far as the United States. A significant portion has come from the Caucasus , even forming their own rebel battalion. Now the leader of one Islamist group is telling them to stay home and attack Russia.

Many French citizens have traveled in Israel as part of their annual holiday, but this week a few hundred of them landed at Ben Gurion Airport - forever. "The situation in France had become unbearable. There is a large Muslim community and harsh political criticism of Israel . Therefore we preferred to leave" said Sabrina Kozirov. (Marriage of traditional European anti-Semitism and Islamic hate for Israel and Jews created atmosphere of complete intolerance for Jews in Europe. Christians will be next!)
PA Minister for Wakf Affairs Mahmoud Habbash in Ramallah issued a fatwa (Islamic religious decree) obliging residents of Gaza to revolt against Hamas and end its control over the Gaza Strip. The fatwa is yet another sign of mounting tensions between Fatah and Hamas in the wake of the crisis in Egypt. He used an anti-Israel notion - It was the duty of Muslims "to liberate Palestine and Jerusalem" - to support his call against Hamas!
Quote of the Week:
"Secretary of State John Kerry has announced that the negotiations will be renewed on the basis of the United States guaranteeing Israel 's pre-1967 borders. This is very curious, though, because the Obama and Bush Administrations already guaranteed Israel 's pre-1967 borders plus settlement blocks'. In other words, the Obama Administration, if this report is true, has just broken a previous pledge to Israel." - Barry Rubin - This is not the first time an US administration betrayed the Jewish state. It is time for Israeli politicians and voters to realize that the future of Jewish people in our own hands - most nations, even tiny ones, know and practice it!

Violation of the 4th Geneva Convention is not a problem for the PA, US and all ant-Semitic bigots of the world. They are quite 'happy', as they were during the Holocaust, with the notion of transferring of almost 500,000 Jews from Judea and Samaria, Jewish ancestral land!
Ahead of resumption of peace talks in Washington (in an apparent attempt to sabotage the talks) , PA president says an international presence could stay in West Bank following peace agreement, but not Israeli settlers or border forces. "In a final solution, we would not see the presence of a single Israeli - civilian or soldier - on our lands," Abbas said in a briefing to mostly Egyptian journalists. The forceful statements appeared to challenge mediator US Secretary of State John Kerry's hopes. Abbas signaled no softening of his stance. "We've already made all the necessary concessions," he said. "East Jerusalem is the capital of the state of Palestine... if there were and must be some kind of small exchange (of land) equal in size and value, we are ready to discuss this - no more, no less," he said. (What concessions has PA made? Most commitments made by PA in previous agreements have not been fulfilled. This includes the recognition of Israel and end of terror attacks! Israel has not removed enemies from Judea, Samaria and Gaza due to restrictions imposed by 4th Geneva Convention on population transfer. Transfer of about 500,000 Jews from Jewish ancestral lands is not a problem for the PA and for international bigots who, because this is the plan to remove Jews, are silent as usual!)
At the same time  another traitor of the Jewish nation, Israeli negotiator Livni, heads to Washington for dinner with PA, Secretary of State Kerry saying that peace negotiations can "recreate hope for both nations", knowing that the is a little (no) chance of success of this fake negotiation. (Since when an artificially created in 1960's people, Palestinians', became a "nation"? Only in the mind of anti-Semites and self-hating Jews, who do not represent Israel and must not be allowed to gamble out the future of Jewish people!)
A major faction of the PLO, the PFLP, rejected new peace talks with Israel just, as Hamas did, hours before their scheduled resumption in Washington last Monday after a three-year break, saying that  resumption of talks is a unilateral move by PA leader Mahmoud Abbas which did not have the backing of the PLO as a whole.
