After such a response to a post earlier in the day regarding the death of common sense, several readers have sent me their personal stories-here is the first one.
"On the way home from Israel we stopped for a few days in Barcelona, Spain. Mary's wallet was stolen by a pickpocket as we were boarding a subway car. When we went to the police to report it the officer told us that pick-pocketing is not a crime in Barcelona. If the person had been apprehended the police would have let him/her go no matter how many offenses of this nature were committed! Then the officer said that it has become worse over the past three years but it is even worse in Italy. Duhh."
Please share your authentic examples-email to: gsdmorris@gmail.com-I will then post in a regular fashion.
