TEHRAN (PIN) - A member of the parliamentary economic committee has emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran is completely prepared to face any possible sanctions in the terms of gasoline imports. Kazem Delkhosh spoke to the PIN reporter in the parliament and said: The recent action taken by the US Senate representatives to put pressure on gasoline- and oil derivatives- suppliers to Iran shows the weakness suffered by this country against us.

Delkhosh continued: If such sanctions are put into effect there will be no economic consequence for Iran, as the Ministry of Oil is completely prepared to deal with such actions. Past experience has proven that whenever the country is oppressed, there will be growth and development in that exact area. As a result, the authorities will find a way to bypass any sanctions thrown at them.

Delkhosh concluded: We are waiting for the report from the Ministry of Oil in this regard and regarding the actions to be taken against possible sanctions and will support any plans presented from the Ministry as fully as possible.

The US Senate committee presented a plan last week to punish any company that export gasoline to Iran but the plan has not been fully studied by White House and Obama has not signed it.
