Wilcox Cocks It Up

My Right Word

Phil Wilcox, who I have met and discussed issues when he was a State Departmenet official both here in Jerusalem and in Washington, is now a leading voice in the undermining of Israel's security, seeking to dismiss Jewish legal rights and promote positions that are inimical to Israel, Middle East stability and America's global interests over at the FMEP. Here is a selection from his words I just received from January 20 at this event - the Middle East Policy Council sponsored a program: "Israeli-Palestinian Peace: What is the U.S. National Security Interest and How Can It Be Achieved" :-

AMB. WILCOX: I think we have to get rid of this notion that the United States cannot talk to terrorists or enemies and adversaries. We've crippled ourselves in the Middle East by demonizing Hamas and Hezbollah. In many respects, they deserve demonization, but they are part of the political landscape in Gaza and the West Bank and Lebanon, respectively...we've tied our hands by saying we can't talk to the bad guys. I think it's a huge mistake. Talking to people does not confer honor or dignity or acceptance. But they're part of the puzzle. And unless we address them, we're not going to use the full capability that we have.

That approach will get us nowhere except to both placate and promote further terrorism.

Comment: It is necessary that people understand that Obama came to his presidency with a specific agenda that was not Israel friendly. IO support this statement by not only his actions during the past 2.5 years in office but also who he has surrounded himself in his group of multiple advisors. The latest advisor you should know more about is this man Phil Wilcox-he does not understand the culture or the manner of thinking present by Arabs in the middle East. The situation is simple: Obama surrounded himself with like minded individuals, as does any President. The mind set is the believe that talking with one's enemy can cure all ills-aside from being an arrogant position it demonstrates that leaders are willing to remain ignorant of other cultures and hold onto their stated beliefs and positions. Of course a President surrounds himself with those who affirm his own beliefs albeit incorrect and perhaps detrimental to the future of the USA's ME interests. Thus Obama's actions and group think advisors demonstrate his lack of support for Israel. Have you not noticed that he and his talking supporters feel a need to always add "we strongly support Israel's right to ...? "Me thinkest" he doth protest too much!! I personally am wary of anyone who feels a need to repeatthis so oftern-it is as though he is trying too hard to convince not only others but himself-doc
