On July 15, I wrote about the
Second Annual Conference Regarding Sovereignty over Judea and Samaria, held
in Hevron and sponsored by the Women in Green.
Now the Women in Green has put up
videos of all of the talks at the Conference, with simultaneous voice over
translation.
I would like to recommend several
lectures, each about 10 minutes in length, which you are likely to
find informative, insightful or encouraging:
Rabbi Professor Daniel
Hershkowitz, head of the Bayit Hayehudi party, gave the keynote talk with an
impassioned plea for extending sovereignty over all the land:
~~~~~~~~~~
Attorney Gershon Mesika, the
head of the Shomron (Samaria) Regional Council, echoed Hershkowitz's theme and
delivered the very important message that it begins with our believing in
ourselves. He tells a fascinating story about how this is
so:
~~~~~~~~~~
MK Uri Ariel (National Union)
provided a practical approach to how to proceed, one step at a time, with a
somewhat different perspective than that of Rabbi Hershkowitz.
~~~~~~~~~~
Attorney Daphne Netanyahu, editor
of the Hebrew "Maraah" [mirror] Internet magazine, spoke about the need for us
to be prepared to accept sovereignty.
~~~~~~~~~~
Caroline Glick, columnist, JPost
senior editor, and associate to significant groups in the US, reviewed
different scenarios and what we are likely to have to contend with:
~~~~~~~~~~
Attorney Itzik Bam gave a
fascinating background explanation for the legal parameters of the current
situation:
~~~~~~~~~~
Attorney Howard Grief gave
background on our historical and legal rights in the land, based on his many
years of research on the subject. His take is a bit different
from Bam's.
~~~~~~~~~~
MK Tzipi Hotovely (Likud) spoke
about her intentions of fighting for recognition of our rights to the
land.
~~~~~~~~~~
Enjoy! The entire program can be
found here:

Tonight the Olympic Games begin in
London, absent an official memorial to the 11 Israelis who were slain at the
Games in Munich 40 years ago. There was a ceremony four days ago done by
the Israelis, and yesterday 15 members of Congress on Thursday held a
moment of silence on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol. And tonight -- bravo
to him! -- NBC's Bob Costas for planning his own moment of
silence.
Remember them,
please:

This is fairly incredible (or
maybe not): White House press secretary Jay Carney during the Thursday press
briefing refused to answer a straightforward question whether the US considers
Jerusalem or Tel Aviv to be Israel's capital.

On the other hand, this is welcome
news:
This week, US Air Force Secretary Michael Donley announced that the
behemoth bunker buster, that has been in development for years, is ready to be
used, if necessary. The bomb, which weighs some 30,000 pounds and is
20.5 feet long, can penetrate up to 200 feet underground through bunker concrete
before exploding.
Also this week, US Ambassador
to Israel, Dan Shapiro, said it is not clear whether there will be more
negotiations with Iran.

Romney is coming to Israel early
next week.
