There has been a dramatic shift in relations between Israel and Turkey… Netanyahu and his Turkish counterpart Erdogan spoke and agreed that both countries ambassadors returned to their post, the legal case on the Marmara Flotilla is dropped and the countries re-establish/resume relations.

Netanyahu expressed regret and offered an elusive apology over the consequences of the Marmara flotilla and accepted to complete the compensation, Turkey will cancel the legal proceedings it began, see below.

I do not see eye to eye with Netanyahu in the matter and I side with Avigdor Lieberman .

I therefore am using my freedom of Speech Obama so freely used while in Israel and contained while speaking to the Arabs and tell the nation of Israel as follows:

But that is not the issue of rotten politics, it is a matter of respect and dignity that appears Jews simply lack. More so, Barack Hussein Obama, a manipulator bar none, has, once again, brought the Prime Minister of Israel to his knees holing him under his thumb.

Will the terrorist on the Mavi Marmara, pay compensations to the IDF soldiers they attacked and injured? I do not think so.

What kind of a country do we, Jews, have that cannot hold to its own dignity?

We, Jews, have been marginalized, disrespected, persecuted and killed for millennium and now, when we have sovereignty we have no idea what to do with it and how to apply it.

If the leader of Israel behaves so amoral, no wonder the world disrespects Israel, treats her under totally separate hostile standards, interferes in her affairs, internal and international, and manipulates her. And Israel's enemy laughs at her.

Don’t Israel appears to be a fool? I think so.

The world is not to blame. Israel has bought it all upon itself. When, in 1967, she was victorious and returned lost land into her hands, Israelis simply could not bathe in their victory and hold to it. So what they have done? They decided to punish themselves. They brought the world terrorist savage Arafat into their land, along with his 100,000 troops and family members, and the result was tens of hundreds Israelis dead. Then they went further with their self inflicting punishment and signed an agreement with the savage Arafat who never stuck to one clause of the agreement while the Israelis, sticking to a delusional agreement , suffered an untold victimization, murder and mayhem. But if that was not enough, Israelis expelled and keep on expelling Jews from their homes, built in the land of Israel, to look good to the world who sits and watches, with satisfaction, her own inflicted sorrow. Jews simply cannot see themselves superior, victorious and in control of their own fate. They need outsiders to navigate them, to tell them no matter what.

If we look at the world, no other nation behaves as Israel does; stubborn, recalcitrant and myopic. Other nations do what is right for them, Israel is doing what is right for all other nations but herself. Until the knife is at her throat and then she reacts but never goes all the way to end the threats, the suffering, the disrespect, and the interference in her sovereignty, so the cycle goes on, as it has been for the past 65 years and will continue so. And this is a war of attrition of the world on Israel and it is very tiring and it wears one out.

So let us think for a moment, what good Israel's behavior has brought her? What do we have today? Israel is surrounded by thousands of rockets ready to destroy her in a short while. The world is acting obnoxiously against her and anti-Semitism is on the rise, as bad as in 1938. That is a direct result of weakness, and schizophrenically ambiguous policy lacking public diplomacy.

I said and say again, Benjamin Netanyahu is a good orator, just like Obama; he is a bad executer. Netanyahu weakness was revealed when he gave Hebron away to Israel's worst nemesis, the Moslems. Netanyahu is a weak leader, an opportunist. The worst, Netanyahu is not the kind of a leader Israel can afford under present reality; rather, he is probably dangerous to Israel's existence.

We, Jews, get what we deserve, because we do not really know who we are and what we stand for.

My blood is boiling and I hope yours too. I do not apologize to Turkey for the Mavi Marmara tragic incident. I apologize to the IDF Commando brave soldiers who landed into the terrorists' den and had nothing to defend themselves with but of paint-gun.

The Nation of Israel, along paint-gun's diplomacy, means the state of Israel is doomed.

Dramatic shift in relations: Netanyahu Erdogan spoke and agreed: the ambassadors returned, Legal case on Marmara canceled.

Dramatic thaw in relations: Prime Minister Turkish counterpart talked first time since 2009, and decided to re-establish the relationship between the two countries. Netanyahu expressed sorrow over the consequences of the flotilla and accepted to complete the compensation, Turkey will cancel the legal proceedings.

The first results of Obama's visit: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke today and Netanyahu apologized for the killing of Turkish civilians during the takeover of the ship Mavi Marmara, which led the Turkish flotilla to Gaza in May 2010.

The move, supported by Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon and military, probably MOT due to American pressure, rather the escalating of the civil war in Syria, which raises a need for a strong ally in the region.

The apology led to a conclusion on Saturday of normalization between the two countries, including the return of diplomatic representation level and sending ambassadors back to Tel Aviv and Ankara. Elusive apology

The wording of the apology is elusive and differs from the original Turkish demand for an apology for the killing of its citizens. The text agreed upon includes "an apology to the Turkish people for the mistake could lead to loss of human life." This following an Israeli investigation of the incident, indicating of number of operational errors during the takeover of the Mavi Marmara.

During the conversation, Netanyahu clarified that the tragic consequences of the flotilla was not intentional. He expressed regret for on behalf of the State of Israel on the damage and loss of human life. It also agreed that Israel will pay compensation into a humanitarian fund to be established specifically for the families of the victims, not direct compensation to the families as the Turks demanded.

The dramatic move is the result of a long meeting held today between Netanyahu and Obama. The White House is working for a long time for the return to normal relations between the countries, but so far these efforts did not bear fruit. Turkey insisted on three conditions: an apology for the killing of its citizens, direct compensation to the families and the closure of the Gaza Strip.

Israel has held several meetings with Turkish representatives, the last took place a few weeks ago in Rome, between the head of the National Security Council, Yaakov Amidror, and deputy Turkish Foreign Minister Faridoon Sinirlolo. The negotiations were to mature several times, but according to an Israeli source the Turks refused to give up their demand for lifting the blockade on Gaza…

Tailwind against Iran?

During his visit to Israel this week Obama pressured Netanyahu to end the affair with Erdogan, in view of the deteriorating situation in Syria. Between the two countries they arrived at an understanding that cooperation in the political, military and intelligence, which was discontinued due to the flotilla, may bear fruit in the entire region and for the United States. Israel believe that this will also help on the Iranian issue.

Netanyahu eventually settled to the satisfaction of Obama, this after once before he took his agreement back in the wake of pressure from the then Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman.

In Israel they hope that that the new agreement will moderate the public statements of Turkish officials and also the opening to a different relations Even if the parties will not renew the close relationship that existed between the two countries in the past years, there is hope that reconciliation will enable better results in both strategic and practical level.

"The apology of the State of Israel for the activities of IDF soldiers against terrorist organization is a serious error," said Lieberman.

Religious bias

Hate crimes motivated by religious bias accounted for 1,409 offenses reported by law enforcement. A breakdown of the bias motivation of religious-bias offenses showed:

65.4 percent were anti-Jewish.
13.2 percent were anti-Islamic.
9.5 percent were anti-other religion, i.e., those not specified.
4.3 percent were anti-Catholic.
3.8 percent were anti-multiple religions, group.
3.3 percent were anti-Protestant.

In 1948, the Arab countries refused to accept the UN partition proposal and they launched a war of annihilation against the State of Israel which had barely been established. All precedents in this matter showed that the party that starts the war - and with a declaration of annihilation, yet - pays a price for it. Between 550,000 and 710,000 Arabs fled because of the war and a larger number of 850,000 Jews were expelled or fled from Arab countries (the "Jewish nakba").
Population exchanges and expulsions were the norm at that time, occurring in dozens of other conflict points and affecting about 52 million people. In all the population exchange precedents that occurred during or at the end of an armed conflict, there was no return of refugees to the previous region, which had turned into a new national state.
Only the Arab states acted completely differently from the rest of the world. Instead of assimilating the refugees, they crushed them despite the fact that they were their coreligionists and members of the Arab nation - instituting a regime of apartheid. So the "nakba" was not caused by the actual dispossession, which had also been experienced by tens of millions of others. The "nakba" is the story of the apartheid, oppression, abuse and denial of rights suffered by the Arab refugees at the hands of the Arab countries. (Maariv)

What Rabin’s last Knesset speech really said:repudiation of a Palestinian state

Rabin ruled out a fully sovereign Palestinian state :

“We view the permanent solution in the framework of State of Israel which will include most of the area of the Land of Israel as it was under the rule of the British Mandate, and alongside it a Palestinian entity which will be a home to most of the Palestinian residents living in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. We would like this to be an entity which is less than a state, and which will independently run the lives of the Palestinians under its authority.”

Rabin ruled out a total withdrawal from Judea and Samaria and thus a return to the pre-June 1967 borders :

“The borders of the State of Israel, during the permanent solution, will be beyond the lines which existed before the Six Day War. We will not return to the 4 June 1967 lines.”

Rabin ruled out withdrawing form the Jordan Valley:

“The security border of the State of Israel will be located in the Jordan Valley, in the broadest meaning of that term.”

Rabin ruled out uprooting settlement blocs, like the Gush Katif bloc in Gaza (which was subsequently uprooted by former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon):

“The establishment of blocs of settlements in Judea and Samaria, like the one in Gush Katif.

Rabin ruled out removing any settlement before coming to a full peace agreement with the Palestinians:

“I want to remind you: we committed ourselves, that is, we came to an agreement, and committed ourselves before the Knesset, not to uproot a single settlement in the framework of the interim agreement, and not to hinder building for natural growth.”

Rabin insisted on Israel retaining full security control of the borders with Egypt and Jordan, contrary to Israel’s relinquishment of the Philadelphia Corridor on the border with Egypt:

“The responsibility for external security along the borders with Egypt and Jordan, as well as control over the airspace above all of the territories and Gaza Strip maritime zone, remains in our hands.”

Correcting Oslo Myths-Part 2

3) Kuttab laments that the post-1993 Oslo process resulted in a Palestinian Authority "whose ministers and legislators are not guaranteed passage between Gaza and the West Bank ...."

Before free passage or other perquisites, PA leaders were obligated, among other things, to eliminate the terrorist infrastructure in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, end anti-Israeli, antisemitic incitement in schools, mosques, and communications media, and resolve all outstanding issues through peaceful negotiations. They met none of these commitments, sometimes bolstering terrorism and greatly increasing incitement.

4) Kuttab complains that under Oslo the PA got "lightly armed police ---- but no real sovereignty over the land or contiguity between our communities in Gaza and the West Bank."

Oslo agreements repeatedly were revised, regardless of Palestinian non-compliance, until the authorized number of police grew from 8,000 to 40,000. Though they were to be the only armed forces in the territories, Israeli estimates early in the second intifada put the number of gunmen - police, "security services," terrorists, and armed gangs - at 85,000. Their armament reportedly included not only heavy machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades, but also anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles.

Sovereignty was to be negotiated in the envisioned 1998 "final status" talks - after a five-year period of confidence-building. Palestinian leadership chronically undermined the process. Palestinian terrorism made the 1993 - 1998 Oslo period more deadly for Israelis than the 15 years preceding it.

The United States doesn't have contiguity between the lower 48 states and Alaska and Hawaii; territorial contiguity between the West Bank and Gaza Strip - that is, through the 20 miles of Israeli territory between them - was never promised and would destroy Israeli contiguity.

5) "Palestinians have been made to endure hundreds of checkpoints in the West Bank, an eight-foot wall deep in our territories, and tight Israeli control over borders."

The security barrier is not "deep in Palestinian territories," but rather encompasses less than 8 percent of Judea and Samaria, and is mostly a fence, rarely a wall; the land in question is not "our [Palestinian] territories" but disputed territory to which, according to the authors of U.N. Security Council Resolution 242, Jews as well as Arabs have claims; and there are no international borders, only the 1949 armistice lines with Jordan. Under 242, borders remain to be negotiated. As for checkpoints - like the security barrier and "tight Israeli control" - Palestinian Arabs precipitated these measures themselves. No terrorism and there would be no fence or tight Israeli control and few checkpoints - like before the first intifada.

Correcting Some Oslo Myths

1) In Oslo "Israeli, Palestinian and other world leaders promised that ... Palestinian sovereignty would be solidified."

No, they didn't. The 1993 Declaration of Principles and subsequent Oslo agreements outlined a process by which final status negotiations about the West Bank and Gaza Strip would be reached. The process required an end to anti-Israel terrorism and incitement and a commitment to peaceful negotiations. The PA, Fatah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and other terrorist groups, sabotaged the process from the start.

2) "The reality is that, in defiance of U.N. Security Council Resolution 242, which states that it is inadmissible to occupy land by force, Palestinian territories are still under foreign military occupation."
Wrong again. Resolution 242 (1967) does note "the inadmissibility of the acquisition of territory by war." It also affirms the right of every state in the area "to live in peace with secure and recognized boundaries free from threats or acts of force." There were no "Palestinian territories." Jordan occupied the West Bank, Egypt controlled Gaza. Israel did not have "secure and recognized boundaries," so retention of some of those territories was possible under 242. Israel is not a "foreign" military occupier in the West Bank but, pending final negotiations, the lawful military administrator as a result of a successful war of self-defense.
