The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MFA) attacks the whistle blower instead of the root of the problem.

For the MFA it is apparently more severe that the director of Palestinian Media Watch has an address the Norwegian government disapproves of, than Norwegian tax money going to reward the men and women who deliberately and with pride have killed Jews – the more killed the greater the reward. The attack on Itamar Marcus is very undignified.

In recent years, more and more deceptions by the Palestinian Authority and Fatah has been revealed by the Israeli organization, Palestinian Media Watch. Their translation and presentation of what is conveyed in the Palestinian society in Arabic is also becoming better known in Norway, not least because MIFF [With Israel For Peace] regularly reproduce PMWs articles and videos, has invited PMWs director Itamar Marcus to Norway several times since 2008 and has published PMWs book “Deception, betraying the peace process”.

The MFA has stuck its head in the sand

Both bureaucrats and the political leadership of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry have consistently chosen to ignore the serious cases of hatred, terror and tribute of delegitimization of Israel that the PMW has revealed. Miff sent the book “Deception, betraying the peace process” to the Foreign Ministry when it was released in the summer. At the time when [Norwegian state ownded TV channel] NRK started working with some of the main issues of the book this winter, had the Foreign Ministry’s political leadership not yet made themselves familiar with [the conent of] the book. The State Department also completley  failed to respond to the MIFF invitation to look more closely at what is communicated by the official Palestinian daily newspaper Al-Hayat Al-Jadida.
MIFF invited Itamar Marcus, founder and director of PMW, to Norway for the first time in 2008. The visit led to a news item on TV2, where examples of hate being conveyed from Palestinian children’s television were demonstrated. Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre reaction at the time was to deny that Norwegian aid funds television programs that convey hatred.  Støre  then immediately pointed out that Itamar Marcus is a settler,  apparently as an excuse for not accepting the PMWs documentation.
The truth has long been known to those that did not  stuck their head in the sand: Norwegian aid funds that are transferred to the Palestinian authorities free budget goes also to fund PA TV, where there are many examples of hate propaganda and paying tribute to terrorists.

10. February 2013, was this information finally also known to viewers of NRK television news. “The messenger [of conveying hate to children and adults] is a government that gets large funds from Norway,” concluded the journalist Tormod Strand in his report.

Attacks whistle blower I

Less than two hours after the report on the “Evening news”  Secretary of state Torgeir Larsen (ap) followed up Støres “line” from 2008. He attacked the alerter instead of the problem. “To complicate things a little bit further. The main source, Palestinian Media Watch, is headed by an Israeli settler. Does not do away with the Palestinian hatred, but an interesting detail, “Larsen wrote on Twitter.
Larsen has failed to answer my three questions and comments, which I posted on Twitter that night.

1. What is it that makes it more interesting?
2. You had no reason to doubt the contents, you said so to NRK – but is it not doubt you raise here?
3. PMW is not the primary source, they only collected and translated it.

No Norwegian Arabic experts, nor the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, has ever questioned the translations PMW deliver.

Attack whistle blower II

Yesterday the MFA intensified their attacks against Marcus. NRK television news again used PMWs disclosures as the basis for a story, this time it emerged that [at the time Foreign Minister] Jonas Gahr Støre has misinformed [the Norwegian] Parliament about the Palestinian government salaries to imprisoned terrorists. Journalist Tormod Strand on the TV news stated that the Foreign Ministry was “keen to get it conveyed [in the news item], that the founder of Palestinian Media Watch, Itamar Marcus, lives in an illegal settlement in the West Bank, and that the organization belongs to the right wing of Israeli politics.”

Larsen has thus shifted the attack on the whistle blower he made on Twitter to the largest Norwegian newscast. True enough, the Secretary of State in the news piece states that the “reward of terror is not acceptable,” but it seems that it is almost more serious that Marcus has a home address  that the Norwegian Government disaprove of, than that the Norwegian tax money goe to reward the men and women who deliberately and with pride have killed Jews – the more killed the greater the reward.
