The Unstoppable Entrepreneurial Spirit

Nurit Greenger | June 6, 2013
The engine that moves Israel, away from the conflict; Israel's technology rises above the negative noise.
After I have participated in The Israel Conference that took place last week at the lovely hospitality Luxe hotel, in West Los Angeles, I have come to realize that the drive of the Israeli people is unlike anyone in the entire world; as if the Israelis are chasing something they forever cannot catch. But in fact along this chase path they discover, invent and expose and inform.

I once heard a theory that Adam and Eve were as smart as God. And when they sinned God took away their Godly wisdom and He told them that from now on, they are on their own to rediscover the wisdom they lost.  To me it seems that what the people of Israel are doing is turbo chasing that lost wisdom.
Israel is the world's well of startup companies.
The conference objective is to showcase the success stories of global firms and their partnership and investments in Israel; the purpose is to introduce and expose startup, and not so startup, Israeli companies. In the two days I was exposed to a world of creativity, brain bar none and amazing entrepreneurial spirit. From the shores of the Mediterranean to the shores of the Pacific incredible gamut of technology, brought by amazing companies with indelible energy to succeed.
Along this spirit comes the joke that God made the world in six days because He did not have customers' database.
The Israel Conference, http://www.theisraelconference.org/, with Yossi Vardi, Chairman and Sharona Justman Managing Director is all about finding your net worth niche that will help you take your company to the world.
The question is how Israel became unstoppable in so many aspects? The answer: by eliminating the fear her entrepreneurs are unstoppable. You take the fear out of you and you steer it to success based on top commando like team.
In Israel necessity is the mother of most innovations. It appears that Israelis like to have challenges to solve and in solving them they look for challenges. And that is the idea of Israel being a startup country. Also Tikun Olam – repairing the world - enters into this equation and is part of many solutions that come from Israel and which the world enjoys.
The more you attack Israel, the more it will find the solutions to rise above the obstacles, to defend itself, whether it is with technology or diplomatically.
The goal, most of Israeli startup companies want to create enough solid local company to be then sold, for huge amount, to an international conglomerate. For that the companies seek Venture Capital (VC).
Among the international companies that participated I recognized the made in Israel Sodastream (http://www.sodastreamusa.com/store.aspx?gclid=CJ72ko7fzrcCFcN_QgodZEYASQ
Graham Weston Chairman & Co-Founder of Rackspace, the service leader in cloud computing that delivers enterprise-class hybrid cloud infrastructures to businesses of all sizes and kinds around the world http://www.rackspace.com/information/aboutus/
Bill Schley who wrote the book The UnStoppables: Tapping Your Entrepreneurial Power,
based on foreword author Graham Weston's experience growing Rackspace, as well as fascinating case studies from such organizations as the Navy SEALs and Israeli Special Forces that attracted much attention.
So what is Israel's secret? It is the plethora of good ideas in the global information era. We can expect that it will only get better and more exciting.
The Israel Conference is all about Israelis bringing Israel's technology and innovations to the world and bringing international partners to Israel. Seeking a perfect business match.
During two days, companies in the advertising, medical devices, smart city applications, next generation Internet technology, cyber, security, echo systems, information exchange technology, media and entertainment next generation, to name a few, presented their business model. It is clear that Israel has the invention's DNA and all she needs is the drive to go above the challenge; to go above mistaken politics with which, way too often, she shoots herself in the foot, and above world's bias, so her success will be even greater.

Such conference, which brings the future to the present, makes you believe that after all, as God's word, Israel was, is and will always be the heart of the world and from Zion shall go forth Torah and Prophecy and today we can comfortably say, and superior technology comes out of Jerusalem. God channels, Jews receive and then they pass it on to the world.
Next year, as Israel ramps up is entrepreneurial spirit, we can only expect even more exciting conference.
