Refugees the World does not Care About

The Global Prospective

At the end of 2012, the UN High Commissioner of Refugees documented 15.4 million refugees worldwide - excluding so-called Palestinian refugees who are administered by UNRWA for over 60 years and 28.8 million internally displaced persons. Four million of the refugees are from Afghanistan. One of the results of the civil war in Sudan was five and a half million refugees.

Fifteen million refugees (Hindu, Muslim and Sikh) were created by the 1947 partition of the Indian Peninsula (which resulted in the creation of India, Pakistan , and Bangladesh later). The Greco-Turkish war of 1919-1922 involved a forced population exchange of two million people. (Both conflicts were followed by massive population transfer that has facilitated the mostly successful endings of the brutal conflict. People behind the population transfer plans received Nobel Prizes. As soon as Israel declared independence, the practice was declared illegal by the 4^th Geneva Convention, in order to accommodate the intention of Arab states to destroy the Jewish state. Since 1948 millions of refugees have been 'relocated' in violation of the Convention and accepted as permanent residents by host countries, but not the so-called Palestinians!)

From 1990 to 1991, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait expelled 800,000 Yemenites and almost 300,000 Palestinians for collaborating with Saddam Hussein's invasion of Kuwait. Some 300,000 Palestinians - who were allies of Saddam Hussein - fled Iraq following the first and second Gulf Wars. Since 1945, there have been some 100 million refugees worldwide, most of them resettled. On the other hand, Palestinian refugee camps in Arab territories have remained intact since 1950, while Palestinian leadership conducts a lavish life-style, including bank accounts stashed throughout the world (with the generous help from the UNRWA - the dirty hand of the 'Useless Nothing'!)

Catholic Church - anti-Semitism is still in their Blood

Mideast peace efforts are being "hampered" by Israeli construction in Judea and Samaria, the Latin patriarch of Jerusalem claimed on Wednesday in his traditional Christmas message. Fuad Twal, the top Roman Catholic cleric in the Holy Land, stated that "the Israeli-Palestinian talks resumed in late July, after three years of interruption, but the efforts are hampered by the continuous building of Israeli settlements ." (Genocidal ideology and terrorist tendency of the fake Palestinians is not an obstacle to peace? It has become a Roman Catholic Church tradition - during this time of the year one of its stooges declares his 'profound love' of Catholic Church for Jews. But, the Church is shy to condemn a systematic slaughter of thousands of Christians by Muslims!)

Soon Israel will be Blamed for 'Peace process' Failure

A medium-sized bomb exploded on a Dan No. 240 bus in Bat Yam on the outskirts of Tel Aviv Monday, Dec. 22, in what the police believe is a fresh outbreak of Palestinian terrorist attacks on Israeli civilian transport. (The wishes circle of terror must be broken by expelling enemies from Jewish land!)

When it comes to reporting news from Eretz-Israel, most international news agencies do not report good news from Israel. Good news they are not able to ignore is often thus under-reported and with editorial 'commentaries' in order to reduce their importance. At the same time, acts of terror committed by so-called Palestinians and other Arabs are also ignored or come with 'justifications' that put blame on Israel. The same news-reporting practice was used by the Soviet Union about life in Western democracies in order to control population and keep people ignorant! Totalitarian countries like Iran, North Korea and China are still practicing this kind of art.

EU Financing Failed 'Palestinian' State

European auditors said EU should stop funding to Palestinian civil servants in Gaza because they are providing no public service. 22% of the employees in the Gaza Health Ministry and 24% of its Education Ministry drew salaries even though they were not working. In response to the report the EU Commission said "the PA must continue supporting its workers in Gaza as a key element of maintaining its presence in Gaza and the unity of a future Palestinian state." (That means that EU has no intention to follow the recommendation of its own auditors)

Iran Launched 'Monkey' at Nuclear Talks

Iran announced that a monkey had been successfully launched into space and brought back to earth safely aboard a home-made bio-capsule. This is disturbing news in the context of the commitment Iran undertook under the interim nuclear accord it signed with the six powers on Nov. 24, to refrain from developing nuclear-capable missiles with ranges beyond 2,000 km. The space launch last week virtually nullified that commitment. It was evidently part of a carefully staged action to put the entire Geneva accord on the skids at the first opportunity.

'Pig' Ate at "Pig's Foot" Restaurant

President Shimon Peres recently returned to Israel from Mexico. During the visit Peres and his entourage entered a restaurant called Au Pied de Cochon and ate a meal. The name of the restaurant means "The Pig's Foot." This is also the restaurant's prized dish. The restaurant's sign features two piglets staring at each other, and the menu is decorated with images of pigs, which observant Jews are strictly forbidden from eating. Peres, who speaks French, certainly understood the meaning of the name. Non-observant Jewish official representatives of Israel usually refrain from dining in blatantly non-kosher venues. (So far, Peres was called a self-hater and traitor; now he has become a desecrator! In Saudi Arabia he would probably be executed for committing a blasphemy )

Intellectual anti-Semitism is still Alive

An association of American scholars has voted for an academic boycott of Israeli colleges and universities in protest against Israeli policies towards the so-called Palestinians, the group said on Monday. Two-thirds of the 1,252 members of the American Studies Association who voted approved a boycott resolution. Ronald Lauder, president of the World Jewish Congress, said, "This vote to boycott Israel, one of the most democratic and academically free nations on the globe, shows the Orwellian anti-Semitism and moral bankruptcy of the American Studies Association." (The group is devoted to the study of American culture and history - The bigots obviously do not want to know how much Jews contributed to American culture and history, or are they just afraid of intellectual competition!)

Israel in Search for New Reliable Ally

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman met his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi. Liberman in late November called on Israel to search for new allies amid tense relations with the US over the Iranian nuclear deal. The growing closeness with China is considered to be one of the new alliances.

Obama Protecting Iranian Nuclear Program

Despite White House efforts, US senators push additional Iranian sanction bill forward. The bill attempts to secure automatic sanctions should Iran break the deal, a key Israeli demand, and promises Israel support if it feels the need to launch such an attack. US President Barack Obama would veto legislation imposing new sanctions on Tehran over its nuclear program, the White House said.

Nobody Cares About or is Outraged by This

A total of 1,807 Palestinians have been killed in Syria since the beginning of the violence nearly three years ago. Yarmuk refugee camp near Damascus has been under siege for 156 days. Syrian army was preventing food and medicine supplies from reaching the camp residents. About 500,000 Palestinians lived in Syria until the beginning of the civil war. Tens of thousands fled to Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and Turkey in the past three years.

Was Mandela a Mossad Agent?

Mandela received training in both weaponry and sabotage by operatives from Mossad, Israel's secret intelligence service. "During his training, Mandela expressed interest in the methods of the Haganah pre-state underground and was viewed by the Mossad as leaning towards communism," Haaretz reported. The newly revealed document is a letter, at the time top secret and dated October 11, 1962, from Mossad to officials in Israel's Foreign Ministry.

No Need for Discussion - Free Pollard Now!

In a December 10 letter, Bill Richardson, a close confidant of US President Barack Obama, called on the president to release Jonathan Pollard immediately.

In the letter Richardson writes "in my view, there is no longer a need for a discussion today. Virtually everyone who was in a high position of government - and dealt with the ramifications of what Pollard did at the time - now support his release."

Richardson pointedly notes where the guilt lies for Pollard's unprecedented jail term. He writes "two people in high positions at the time have directly blamed the life sentence of Pollard on the affidavit filed in the case of (then) Secretary of Defense Casper Weinberger that went against the plea bargain with Pollard and the government's commitment to not seek a life sentence." (Nelson Mandela, Marxist and convicted killer, spent 27 years in jail and became an international hero. Jonathan Pollard is still, after 28 years, in US jail for passing information about enemies of Israel, which the United States was withholding from its ally in spite of the security agreement. What else is this, if not anti-Israel bias and Jewish persecution?)

Outrage Continues Over US Spying

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu opened his weekly cabinet meeting Sunday with comments about the revelations that the US and Britain have been spying on Israeli officials - and its crucial connection to the Jonathan Pollard case. "We do not need a special occasion to discuss the release of Jonathan Pollard," Netanyahu stated. "We are constantly working on the matter, including with President Obama. We are hoping that circumstances will emerge soon that will allow for Jonathan's release."

Free Jonathan Pollard, End Hypocrisy

MK Ayelet Shaked (Jewish Home), head of Israel's task force to free Jonathan Pollard, called to free the imprisoned Israeli citizen immediately after revelations surfaced that the US and Britain spied on Israeli Prime Ministers Binyamin Netanyahu and Ehud Olmert. "A relationship between allies demands reciprocity," the MK continued. "It is impossible that while Jonathan Pollard rots in prison after several decades over spying allegations... that Israel should take this exposure of the US's spying activities against Israel quietly."

The IDF’s Minorities in Numbers and Pictures

In honor of IDF Diversity Week, we present diversity through numbers and pictures. Each year, more and more Muslims, Christians, Druze, Bedouin and immigrants from around the world take on the responsibility of defending Israel.

MUSLIMS:

Muslim Arab Israelis are not required to draft in the IDF, but there are many who volunteer. In 2013, there were over 200 Muslims serving in the IDF and over 300 in the reserves.

Bedouins:

Bedouins are nomadic Muslims who were in Israel when modern borders were set in place and are now considered Israeli citizens. They are not required to draft but a growing number choose to enlist. In 2012, there were over 1,400 Bedouin Muslim soldiers doing regular IDF service and almost 1,500 in the reserves.

In January of next year, the federal income tax rate for middle-class taxpayers is scheduled to rise from 25 percent to 28 percent, and the payroll tax is scheduled to rise from 13.3 percent to 15.3 percent… This drives the marginal tax rate based on the aforementioned three taxes to 48.12 percent. Add in state and local property, corporate, excise, and other state and local taxes, and the percentage of each additional dollar that is taxed hovers around 50 percent… When half of each additional dollar earned is taxed away, taxpayers experience a disincentive to start businesses or expand existing ones. This leads to fewer jobs being created.

Kelly Miliziano, who teaches history classes at Steinbrenner High School in the Tampa, Florida area apparently thinks it’s perfectly OK to invite a senior official of a HAMAS-affiliated organization into her classroom to discuss Islam with her students. According to local media reports, not only has this been going on for years, but in spite of the civil and criminal proceedings that could result from such reckless negligence, the Hillsborough County school superintendent, Mary Ellen Elia, and the chairman of the school board, Candy Olson, also expressed approval for students under their responsibility to be exposed repeatedly to guest speaker, Hassan Shibly, who is the Executive Director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in the Tampa area.

Who is being discriminated-facts tell the truth

Religious bias

Hate crimes motivated by religious bias accounted for 1,409 offenses reported by law enforcement. A breakdown of the bias motivation of religious-bias offenses showed:

65.4 percent were anti-Jewish.
13.2 percent were anti-Islamic.
9.5 percent were anti-other religion, i.e., those not specified.
4.3 percent were anti-Catholic.
3.8 percent were anti-multiple religions, group.
3.3 percent were anti-Protestant.
0.5 percent were anti-Atheism/Agnosticism/etc.

On March 31, 1977, the Dutch newspaper Trouw published an interview

with PLO executive committee member Zahir Muhsein. Here's what he said:

"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct "Palestinian people" to oppose Zionism.

For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan."

In March 1977, Zahir Muhsein, a PLO executive, said:

The Arab Apartheid

In 1948, the Arab countries refused to accept the UN partition proposal and they launched a war of annihilation against the State of Israel which had barely been established. All precedents in this matter showed that the party that starts the war - and with a declaration of annihilation, yet - pays a price for it. Between 550,000 and 710,000 Arabs fled because of the war and a larger number of 850,000 Jews were expelled or fled from Arab countries (the "Jewish nakba").
Population exchanges and expulsions were the norm at that time, occurring in dozens of other conflict points and affecting about 52 million people. In all the population exchange precedents that occurred during or at the end of an armed conflict, there was no return of refugees to the previous region, which had turned into a new national state.
Only the Arab states acted completely differently from the rest of the world. Instead of assimilating the refugees, they crushed them despite the fact that they were their coreligionists and members of the Arab nation - instituting a regime of apartheid. So the "nakba" was not caused by the actual dispossession, which had also been experienced by tens of millions of others. The "nakba" is the story of the apartheid, oppression, abuse and denial of rights suffered by the Arab refugees at the hands of the Arab countries. (Maariv)

What Rabin’s last Knesset speech really said:repudiation of a Palestinian state

Rabin ruled out a fully sovereign Palestinian state :

“We view the permanent solution in the framework of State of Israel which will include most of the area of the Land of Israel as it was under the rule of the British Mandate, and alongside it a Palestinian entity which will be a home to most of the Palestinian residents living in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. We would like this to be an entity which is less than a state, and which will independently run the lives of the Palestinians under its authority.”

Rabin ruled out a total withdrawal from Judea and Samaria and thus a return to the pre-June 1967 borders :

“The borders of the State of Israel, during the permanent solution, will be beyond the lines which existed before the Six Day War. We will not return to the 4 June 1967 lines.”

Rabin ruled out withdrawing form the Jordan Valley:

“The security border of the State of Israel will be located in the Jordan Valley, in the broadest meaning of that term.”

Rabin ruled out uprooting settlement blocs, like the Gush Katif bloc in Gaza (which was subsequently uprooted by former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon):

“The establishment of blocs of settlements in Judea and Samaria, like the one in Gush Katif.

AND

Rabin ruled out removing any settlement before coming to a full peace agreement with the Palestinians:

“I want to remind you: we committed ourselves, that is, we came to an agreement, and committed ourselves before the Knesset, not to uproot a single settlement in the framework of the interim agreement, and not to hinder building for natural growth.”

Rabin insisted on Israel retaining full security control of the borders with Egypt and Jordan, contrary to Israel’s relinquishment of the Philadelphia Corridor on the border with Egypt:

“The responsibility for external security along the borders with Egypt and Jordan, as well as control over the airspace above all of the territories and Gaza Strip maritime zone, remains in our hands.”

Correcting Oslo Myths-Part 2

3) Kuttab laments that the post-1993 Oslo process resulted in a Palestinian Authority "whose ministers and legislators are not guaranteed passage between Gaza and the West Bank ...."

Before free passage or other perquisites, PA leaders were obligated, among other things, to eliminate the terrorist infrastructure in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, end anti-Israeli, antisemitic incitement in schools, mosques, and communications media, and resolve all outstanding issues through peaceful negotiations. They met none of these commitments, sometimes bolstering terrorism and greatly increasing incitement.

4) Kuttab complains that under Oslo the PA got "lightly armed police ---- but no real sovereignty over the land or contiguity between our communities in Gaza and the West Bank."

Oslo agreements repeatedly were revised, regardless of Palestinian non-compliance, until the authorized number of police grew from 8,000 to 40,000. Though they were to be the only armed forces in the territories, Israeli estimates early in the second intifada put the number of gunmen - police, "security services," terrorists, and armed gangs - at 85,000. Their armament reportedly included not only heavy machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades, but also anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles.

Sovereignty was to be negotiated in the envisioned 1998 "final status" talks - after a five-year period of confidence-building. Palestinian leadership chronically undermined the process. Palestinian terrorism made the 1993 - 1998 Oslo period more deadly for Israelis than the 15 years preceding it.

The United States doesn't have contiguity between the lower 48 states and Alaska and Hawaii; territorial contiguity between the West Bank and Gaza Strip - that is, through the 20 miles of Israeli territory between them - was never promised and would destroy Israeli contiguity.

5) "Palestinians have been made to endure hundreds of checkpoints in the West Bank, an eight-foot wall deep in our territories, and tight Israeli control over borders."

The security barrier is not "deep in Palestinian territories," but rather encompasses less than 8 percent of Judea and Samaria, and is mostly a fence, rarely a wall; the land in question is not "our [Palestinian] territories" but disputed territory to which, according to the authors of U.N. Security Council Resolution 242, Jews as well as Arabs have claims; and there are no international borders, only the 1949 armistice lines with Jordan. Under 242, borders remain to be negotiated. As for checkpoints - like the security barrier and "tight Israeli control" - Palestinian Arabs precipitated these measures themselves. No terrorism and there would be no fence or tight Israeli control and few checkpoints - like before the first intifada.

Correcting Some Oslo Myths

1) In Oslo "Israeli, Palestinian and other world leaders promised that ... Palestinian sovereignty would be solidified."

No, they didn't. The 1993 Declaration of Principles and subsequent Oslo agreements outlined a process by which final status negotiations about the West Bank and Gaza Strip would be reached. The process required an end to anti-Israel terrorism and incitement and a commitment to peaceful negotiations. The PA, Fatah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and other terrorist groups, sabotaged the process from the start.

2) "The reality is that, in defiance of U.N. Security Council Resolution 242, which states that it is inadmissible to occupy land by force, Palestinian territories are still under foreign military occupation."
Wrong again. Resolution 242 (1967) does note "the inadmissibility of the acquisition of territory by war." It also affirms the right of every state in the area "to live in peace with secure and recognized boundaries free from threats or acts of force." There were no "Palestinian territories." Jordan occupied the West Bank, Egypt controlled Gaza. Israel did not have "secure and recognized boundaries," so retention of some of those territories was possible under 242. Israel is not a "foreign" military occupier in the West Bank but, pending final negotiations, the lawful military administrator as a result of a successful war of self-defense.
