Gone Too Far: Obama Blames His Loyal Followers

M. Catharine Evans

We need to re-examine Obama’s narcissism.

Is he crossing the line into total disassociation from reality? As top insider Democrats Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod, (25 pounds lighter from the Obama stress diet) head back to the radicals’ womb, Chicago, the president blames the coming November tsunami on regular, ‘lethargic’ and ‘apathetic’ voters. In other words, he’s targeting the poor schmucks that put him in the White House. No one is safe from this guy’s wrath. Barry has now thrown his own followers under the bus.

An upcoming Rolling Stone interview has the president saying this to rally the troops:

We have to get folks off the sidelines. People need to shake off this lethargy. People need to buck up…But if people want to now take their ball and go home, that tells me that folks weren’t serious in the first place. The narcissistic, totalitarian mentality resembles an authoritarian parent who rules with a ‘for your own good’ type of discipline.

The problem is voters are not children, legally they are free adults who have been endowed by their Creator with unalienable rights. So shoving something down their throats against their will doesn’t work. Instead of holding himself accountable for the ‘apathy’ of Democratic voters Obama does what he always does, he plays the blame game.

But this time he may have gone too far. If the ‘folks’ that chanted ‘Yes, we can’ weren’t ‘serious in the first place’ then how the heck did he win? Now he orders them to “buck up.”

Speaking to the last of the kool-aid drinkers, your president has a long history of betrayal. Narcissists have no allegiance to anyone.

Sam Vaknin’s 1999 work Malignant Self-Love: Narcissism Revisited nails the self-absorbed personality:

Throughout, the narcissist is in full control of his faculties, cognizant of his choices, and goal-orientated. His behaviour is intentional and directional. He is a manipulator and his delusions are in the service of his stratagems. Hence his chameleon-like ability to change guises, his conduct, and his convictions on a dime.

Narcissists can’t afford to shut out the world because they so heavily depend on it for the regulation of their labile sense of self-worth. Owing to this dependence, they are hypersensitive and hypervigilant, alert to every bit of new data. They are continuously busy rearranging their self-delusions to incorporate new information in an ego-syntonic manner.

He attempts to condition his nearest and dearest to positively reinforce his delusional False Self. But, if he fails, he modifies his profile on the fly. He “plays it by ear”. His False Self is extemporaneous – a perpetual work of art, permanently reconstructed in a reiterative process designed around intricate and complex feedback loops.

“Though the narcissistic personality is rigid – its content is always in flux. Narcissists forever re-invent themselves, adapt their consumption of narcissistic supply to the “marketplace”, attuned to the needs of their “suppliers”. Like the performers that they are, they resonate with their “audience”, giving it what it expects and wants. They are efficient instruments for the extraction and consumption of human reactions.”

As a result of this interminable process of fine tuning, narcissists have no loyalties, no values, no doctrines, no beliefs, no affiliations, and no convictions. Their only constraint is their addiction to human attention, positive or negative.

The Rolling Stone interview exposes the depth of Obama’s dysfunctional, grandiose thinking. It’s ‘his way or no way.’ In truth, the powers that be needed someone to usher in the leftist idea of transformative change. Who better than a bona fide narcissist like President Obama. He fits the DSM-IV criteria to a tee.
