Crossing the Yarden

Sorry, You're Not Human

"In Gaza City, residents went out into the streets and fired rifles in celebration in the air after hearing news of the attack on the seminary."

A few hours ago, terrorists opened fire inside Yeshiva Merkaz HaRav, killing and wounded many students. One fired 600 bullets into a crowd of students. Another entered the Bet Midrash and started killing every kid he could see. No, not firing randomly. Firing purposely. According to the Associated Press, as I sit here writing this, the party is kicking off in Gaza. Great news fellas. You must be so proud.Tonight, parents are being informed that their children are dead. Tomorrow will be funerals for young students. Twenty-four hours from now, mothers and fathers will start saying Kaddish. Kaddish for their children.

Others are being operated on as you read this. Their families are waiting by anxiously, wondering what life will be like tomorrow, and the next day, and the next. Who will walk again, who will see.

Work of an isolated madman? No such luck. The achievement of a society and culture so saturated in anti-Semitism that Hitler would be proud. The children in Gaza are being woken up right now to hear that "courageous fighters" have just struck a blow for Palestinian Freedom.

I'm not ideological. If the Palestinians behaved like Canadians, I would give them their own state in an instant. I know that's not really the Zionist idea, but if there was any chance there would be less dead children, I would ask where do I sign.

But that is just a philosophical discussion. We are not dealing with Canadians, we are dealing with people who are not even worthy to carry the term "human." Celebrating massacres of students? Yossi Beilin, M.J. Rosenberg what have you to say? You think you and your kids will really be safe once we give in to the people who relish seeing our kid's blood?

The United Nation's Human Rights Commission demanded a moment of silence for those in Gaza who were killed by the IDF a few days ago. You guys going to pay tribute to tonight's victims? Yeah, right.

WAKE UP WORLD. The people who dance at our kid's death will one day dance at yours. This conflict has nothing to do with land. It's about good and evil. If you don't see it, your eyes are shut. Believe me, there are many times I want to shut my eyes and believe that there can be "peace" with these people.

But there is a reality staring us in the face with cruel, cold eyes. No matter how hard we Jews try and convince the world that we want peace, the Palestinians try and convince the world that they don't.

Let's hope for better news next week.

Shabbat Shalom from our blessed nation. Pray for tonight's victims and those on the operating tables right now. Pray that our soldiers will finally be given permission to do what needs to be done. Once and for all.

Guest Comments: A peace process?

Our president and the world are in denial of the feasibility of peace between the Palestinians and Israel. What everyone is ignoring that 3 generations of Palestinians have been fed and nurtured a steady diet of hate and revenge. They have been radicalized by Palestinian Authority controlled media, schools and mosques that teach murder of Jews and reclaiming "Palestine " from the " [Jordan] River to the [Mediterranean] sea." There is no room for a single Jew in this plan.

Ignoring the Road Map which calls on the Palestinians to stop incitement and disarm terrorists before any Israeli obligations begin, Secy Rice in her wisdom declared that the structure of the Road Map was "not working" so it became necessary to go around it and proceed directly to status negotiations. Now that is a brilliant solution!. To make matters easier for the Palestinians, we have given Abbas arms and US training of its Fatah members, many of whom are members of its terrorist arm, the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade-- the better to attack and murder Israelis.

Just yesterday, Bush decided to give Abbas yet another $150 million, (of $500 million for this year) overriding a Congressional directive to the contrary. He similarly defied Congress re millions in military aid to Egypt. Just who is Egypt afraid of and against whom will it use the weapons?

Condi rice has repeatedly expressed concern for the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinians, not once mentioning the plight of Israeli civilians under continuous rocket attack--over 4000 since Israel withdrew from Gaza in 8/05. Her solution to the Palestinian suffering is not to demand an end to corruption by its leaders, but for Israel to eliminate checkpoints and roadblocks and cede control of the Philadelphi Corridor which has enabled Hamas to smuggle sophisticated weapons into Gaza, including the long range Grad Katusha rockets, the better to attack Israel with.

All this effort by the US in the face of Abbas's refusal at the Annapolis Peace Conference to recognize Israel as a Jewish state, to recently repeat this in the Arab media, to brag about the use of "resistance', a euphemism for terror, when he also proudly declared having trained Hizaballa, and praised the recent "martyrdom" of Hizaballa leader Mugria, assassinated in Syria.

So, go ahead, Mr. President, assign an artificial time line to bring peace, without any accountability on the part of the Palestinians and putting all the pressure and demands on Israel. What are the Palestinians giving up? Abbas will not even stop the incitement or terror. Your actions are opening the door for the creation of another terror state next to Israel.
