Niall Ferguson: “Don’t bet on democracy emerging in ME”

Bill Levinson

Militant “Islam,” which begins by stripping half of its population (the female half) of its humanity, continues by discouraging freedom of scientific inquiry and rational thought. The result is that a population upward of a billion Muslims has earned a total of seven legitimate Nobel Prizes: we dismiss as illegitimate the Peace Prizes given to mass murderer Yasser Arafat and also to Anwar Sadat, whose only achievement was to negotiate a peace settlement after losing a war to a country he attacked. (Compare to Theodore Roosevelt, who helped mediate a conflict to which the United States was not a party.)

In addition, Nobel laureate Shirin Ebadi was actually persecuted by her Muslim-majority country (Iran) for the kind of activities that earned her the Nobel Peace Prize.

The world’s population of perhaps 15 million Jews has meanwhile earned something like 160 Nobel Prizes, even discounting the Peace Prize given to Menachem Begin who merely negotiated a peace settlement with the aggressor his country had defeated. This reinforces the lesson that people who read books tend to be far more advanced than people who burn books. It is also clear that militant “Muslims” hate Jews for the same reason that lazy and indolent students who get primarily Ds and Fs hate and sometimes try to beat up diligent students who make straight As. Jews remind these primitive Third World savages of just how primitive, backward, and ignorant they really are. Here is some additional information:

At the very moment Aquinas was telling his fellow Europeans how faith and reason could coexist, his Iranian counterpart, the leading Arab philosopher Ghazzali, concluded that the treasure of ancient texts represented social dynamite. The study of science and philosophy, he wrote, was harmful because it would shake man’s faith in God and undermine the Muslim religion. Accordingly, the ruling caliph of Baghdad, to demonstrate his piety, ordered the burning of all manuscripts in the city’s great library. [This was in an era when books were frightfully expensive because they had to be reproduced by hand.] Muslim scientists, tightly controlled by the ruling theocracies, had access to the ancient science texts, but were ordered to use any of the knowledge they gained only for religious purposes (Ernest Volkman, Science Goes to War, p. 60).

The militant “Muslims” burned their books which is why, hundreds of years later, they found themselves bringing swords to gunfights when they went to war with Europe.

Newspapers in the Arab world circulate at less than one fifth of the rate in developed countries. Only 1.6 percent has Internet access,

Arabic books represent less than 1 percent of the world’s production (with a predominance of religious books), even though Arabs make up 5 percent of world population (Trudy Rubin, “Arabs’ best stragegy: reform from within,” Wilkes-Barre Times-Leader, 12/28/03).

A man does not have to know how to read, except perhaps for street signs to guide him to his target, to be a martyr for Allah. The ones who actually learned to fly (but not land) airplanes so they could fly them into the Twin Towers were probably the valedictorians of their classes. In any event, this is why one needs barely more than the fingers of one hand (which is all many people in Middle Eastern countries have thanks to Sharia or “Islamic” justice) to count the Muslims who have earned Nobel Prizes.
