UPDATED: IDF Soldier Reportedly Killed by Lebanon Sniper  according to reports from Al Arabiya, The Lebanon Daily Star and other Lebanese news sites. (details)

THE GREAT JABOTINSKY ADVISED THE JEWS ALMOST A CENTURY AGO,
>It's a bad mistake to meet people halfway,
when they don't want to meet you in the first place.
·         >"We hold that Zionism is moral and just. And since it is moral and just, justice must be done, no matter whether Joseph or Simon or Ivan or Achmet agree with it or not."
·         >"Preservation of the special character of nations is essential for progress."
·         >"Do not say, so what if we concede Hebron, Nablus and beyond the Jordan - this concession is not comprised of words devoid of meaning, and everyone will understand this to be the case. Do not underestimate the power of a concession! . Do not underestimate the power of a right, and don't exaggerate the value of a building that is being built. I, too, respect the construction of a building, but woe upon us if we extract the basis of our right to exist from it. ."
·         >"Tell them [the Jewish People] three things in my name, and not two: they must get iron [i.e. weapons]; they must choose a king; and they must learn to laugh."
·         >"Genius is required for the first step alone."
·         >"Our tradition has it that in the beginning, G-d created the individual. Man is intended to be free. Democracy's meaning is freedom and the goal of democracy is to insure the influence of the minority."

LIVNI BLOCKS BILL LIMITING FOREIGN GOV'T DONATIONS TO FAR-LEFT NGOS Justice Minister Tzipi Livni appealed a bill declaring donations to anti-Israel non-governmental organizations from foreign governments no longer exempt from tax, after it was approved by the Ministerial Committee for Legislation on Sunday.
Eight ministers from Likud, Yisrael Beytenu and Bayit Yehudi approved the bill in the ministerial committee, while Hatnua and Yesh Atid ministers voted against it.

The legislation proposed by Bayit Yehudi faction chairwoman Ayelet Shaked and MK Robert Ilatov (Likud Beytenu) amends the Income Tax Law so that NGOs will have to pay 45 percent tax on donations from foreign governments if the organization or members of its board of directors do one of the following: Call for IDF soldiers to be brought to international courts, call for boycott, divestment of sanctions of the State of Israel or its citizens, reject Israel's right to exist as a Jewish and democratic state, incite to racism or support armed battle by an enemy state or terror organization against Israel.
Rather than passing new bills, NGO Monitor called to enforce a law passed in 2011 requiring NGOs' funding to be fully transparent.

PLO ASKS NBC TO CALL OFF PRODUCTION OF NEW TV SHOW A leading Palestinian official has asked US broadcaster NBC to halt all production on a major new US drama series set to be filmed next year in East Jerusalem.

Hanan Ashrawi, a member of the PLO Executive Committee, called on NBC to scrap all plans for filming "DIG," an archaeological thriller from "Homeland" writer Gideon Raff, in the City of David National Park near the walls of the Old City. Much of the action of the show, which follows a US FBI agent who stumbles upon a massive conspiracy while struggling to solve a murder, is slated to be filmed within the walls and tunnels of the park.

The program, from the Israeli media giant Keshet, has garnered broad support from the Jerusalem mayor, who has pledged to grant production teams unfettered access to the city's historical sites. "With the support of Israeli authorities and Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, the first season will brand Jerusalem's history and heritage as a Jewish city and the capital of Israel," the PLO said Tuesday in a press release, citing the show's potential influence over "hundreds of millions" of global viewers.

"Such a production will legitimize the annexation of Jerusalem and the destruction of the authenticity and character of the occupied city. Any business or organization that deals with Israel in Occupied Palestine is in flagrant breach of international law, conventions, and consensus, respectively," Ashrawi said. "It is evident that these efforts coincide with Israel's intensive and accelerated efforts to annex and ethnically cleanse Jerusalem. The choice to film the series in Palestinian neighborhoods in Jerusalem is designed to endorse the occupation and the bitter reality experienced by Palestinian Jerusalemites."

"DIG" has been signed for six-episode deal with USA Network, a subsidiary of NBC Universal. It is the first-ever Israeli series to be bought for a season without first producing a pilot. Raff will serve as co-creator along with "Heroes" creator Tim Kring, and Keshet's CEO Avi Nir will serve as a co-producer, much as he did with "Homeland."

OBAMA ADMINISTRATION HAS CUT RADICAL DEMOCRAT GROUPS IN ON THE RECORD $13 BILLION JPMORGAN CHASE SUBPRIME LOAN DEAL.  On Page 5 of "Annex 2? of the recently released consent order, you'll find this little gem: The Justice Department mandates that JPMorgan fork over any unclaimed or unpaid consumer damages to a nonprofit group that finances Acorn clones and other shakedown groups.
They stand to reap millions. The "consumer relief" portion of the deal by itself totals $4 billion.
If the government "determines that a shortfall in that obligation remains as of Dec. 31, 2017," the agreement states, "JPMorgan shall make a compensatory payment in cash in an amount equal to the shortfall to Neighbor Works America to provide housing counseling, neighborhood stabilization, foreclosure prevention or similar programs."
Potentially billions could be distributed to Democrat activists through NeighborWorks, a government-funded "affordable housing" group that supports a national network of left-wing community organizers operating in the same vein as Acorn.

CHINA: SPACECRAFT LANDS ON MOON China's first lunar probe Chang'e-3, carrying the Yutu moon rover, landed on the moon on Dec. 14, making China the third country, after the United States and the Soviet Union, to achieve such a feat and the first to do so in more than three decades, according to Beijing Aerospace Control Center, Xinhua reported. During the process, the probe decelerated from 15 kilometers above the moon and hovered at 100 meters from the lunar surface before descending slowly to the landing spot.

China's strategic focus on space is less about national pride than about the importance of space for both the military and economic progress of the country.  "It's still a significant technological challenge to land on another world," said Peter Bond, consultant editor for Jane's Space Systems and Industry. "Especially somewhere like the moon, which doesn't have an atmosphere so you can't use parachutes or anything like that. You have to use rocket motors for the descent and you have to make sure you go down at the right angle and the right rate of descent and you don't end up in a crater on top of a large rock."

NEWS REPORTS
1. AJC, AIPAC, ADL AND JCPA WORKING IN CONGRESS TO SUPPORT JOHN KERRY'S ACTIVITIES, THEY RAP BENNETT'S TWO-STATE OBIT(UARY).  Several weeks ago, just prior to Channukah, Naftali Bennett spoke at the 92d St Y and made the rounds of numerous small groups.  His voice was very clear: The Two State Solution would leave Israel the looser, closer to annihilation than survival as the only Jewish State capable of shielding Jews worldwide from more of what Jews have experienced over 2 millennia; Anti-Semitism, Scapegoating and blatant Hatred.

2.TO JUDGE FROM AMERICA'S PAST ACTIONS TOWARDS ISRAEL AND JEWS, COULD THEY BE MORE TRUSTWORTHY TODAY? Ted Belman, Israpundit, lists 23 devastating blows dealt by the US to Israel. After 1956, Israel 'partnered' with France.  Nuclear Israel was the result.   The world is more fluid today than ever.  France again has held out its hand. Muslims/Arabs no longer hold a monopoly on oil.  Israel is a prize intellectually and, because of its 20 year partnership with Noble Energy, recent oil and gas finds have made Israel, and potentially all Europe, independent of totalitarian domination.  As an aside, one wonders whether the EU with their dominant Islamic populations can ever reverse their anti-Israel platform - whether or not Israel's natural assets were their source of fuel?

3-SECRET REPORT REVEALED BY MARK LANGFAN OF KERRY'S PLAN A 'FRAUD'.  Maps don't lie.  Mark Langfan's studies rely entirely on maps.  Did you know that Jewish schooling in the 15th and 16th century, and perhaps earlier, had Cartography, Military Science, Languages, Mathematics and Talmud.  In the case of schooling documented by Hanna Mendes (Donna Gracia) c.1500, one whose family fled the Spanish inquisition to find temporary safety in Portugal, the course was open to girls.  Very interesting reading: Naomi Ragen The Ghost of Hanna Mendes.

Maj.-Gen. (res.) Yaakov Amidror writes:  Under UN Resolution 242 at the end of the 6 day war explicitly stated that it intended no restoration of the 1949 Armistice Line.  Israel's struggle for "defensible borders" is unique in international diplomacy. It emanates from both the special legal and strategic circumstances that Israel faced in the aftermath of the 1967 Six-Day War, when the Israel Defense Forces captured the West Bank and other territories in a war of self-defense. The previous armistice line of 1949 that separated the Israeli and Jordanian armies was only a military boundary and not a permanent political border, according to the armistice agreement itself. The Jordanian occupation of the West Bank occurred in conjunction with its illegal invasion of the State of Israel in 1948. In fact, Jordanian sovereignty in the West Bank was not recognized by a single Arab state. This provided the background for UN Security Council Resolution 242 of November 1967 which concluded that Israel would need "secure and recognized boundaries" that would necessarily be different from the 1967 lines. The previous status quo was not to be restored. In diplomatic shorthand, President George W. Bush stated on April 14, 2004, that Israel had a right to "defensible borders," in order to convey the same point.

1>CAN ISRAEL COUNT ON IT'S OWN GOVERNMENT.  AJC, AIPAC, ADL AND JCPA RAP BENNETT'S TWO-STATE OBIT(UARY)
RON KAMPEAS/JTAthe
November 2013
Groups which are usually loathe to publicly criticize the Israeli gov't have changed their tune in wake of appeal by John Kerry.
WASHINGTON (JTA) - It's almost boilerplate: The American Jewish community asks a foreign leader with whom it has cultivated a close relationship to kindly tell firebrands in the leader's government to pipe down and fall in with an established policy that happens to be embraced by the U.S. government.  Greece? Romania? Hungary? Russia?
Try Israel.
In a rare rebuke of a sitting Israeli minister, three major centrist Jewish groups in recent weeks have criticized Naftali Bennett, the economics chief in Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's government, for saying that the two-state solution is a "dead end." Bennett also called on the government to annex the West Bank.
"Minister Naftali's remarks, rejecting outright the vision of two states for two peoples, are stunningly shortsighted," David Harris, the American Jewish Committee's executive director, said in a June 17 statement. "Since he is a member of the current Israeli coalition government, it is important that his view be repudiated by the country's top leaders."

Also repudiating Bennett, who heads the right-of-center Jewish Home party, were the Anti-Defamation League and the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, the umbrella body for public policy groups, although the JCPA statement did not name him personally.
Typically loath to publicly criticize the Israeli government, centrist groups in recent years have been the targets of liberal critics who charge that they are, at best, lukewarm supporters of Israeli-Palestinian peace. But coming in the wake of an appeal to Jewish groups by US Secretary of State John Kerry to press "leaders" to back the peace process, the latest statements suggest otherwise.

Each of the groups that repudiated Bennett framed their statements in the context of Kerry's bid to restart the peace process and come as Israeli settler leaders opposed to a two-state solution are making their case in Washington.
The initial reaction to Kerry's appeal was hesitant, but in recent weeks a number of mainstream groups have warmly embraced it. Participants in a closed-door meeting June 26 of Jewish leaders and Democratic US senators said that Michael Kassen, the president of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, "heartily" embraced Kerry's initiative, albeit with a caveat: The main obstacle to peace, he reportedly said, is Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

A similar point was made by ADL National Director Abraham Foxman in a recent Op-Ed calling on Netanyahu to rein in Bennett and Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon, who also has declared the two-state option dead.

"It would be good for Mr. Netanyahu to find as many occasions as possible to reinstate his commitment to a two-state solution, and make clear once again that it is he that wants to move forward through negotiations, while it is Mahmoud Abbas who is injecting rejections and is the true obstacle to peace," Foxman wrote.

AIPAC, notably, declined an invitation to attend the meeting June 27 between Dayan and top Republicans, including Rep. Ed Royce (R-Calif.), the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee; Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), the chairwoman of the committee's Middle East subcommittee; and Rep. Pete Roskam (R-Ill.), the party's chief deputy whip.

Instead, the Zionist Organization of America and the Republican Jewish Coalition led the Jewish contingent at the meeting. The ZOA has counter-rebuked the Jewish groups that criticized Bennett and Danon.  Foxman, the ZOA said in a June 24 release, was "suppressing opposition to a Palestinian state."

Ros-Lehtinen declined to comment, and Royce and Roskam did not return requests to do so. But an official in the office of the House Republican Conference, which organized the meeting, said the meeting did not constitute an endorsement of Dayan's call to bury the two-state solution. The official said there was sympathy with Dayan's view that Kerry's mission was counterproductive and potentially harmful to US interests.
There was interest as well in a proposal by Dayan that Congress hold a hearing on how Jewish settlement has improved the lives of Palestinians; Palestinians say the expansion of settlements and the security measures that protect settlers have seriously impeded and frustrated daily life in the West Bank.

"The discussion focused on the historic and strategic significance of Judea and Samaria, and on the current obstacles to peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians, such as Holocaust denial, hero worship of terrorists, and incitement to violence by the highest levels of the Palestinian Authority," said an email from the House Republican Conference to Jewish groups in the capital. "We also discussed the positive ways in which Arabs and Jews currently coexist in Judea and Samaria, including the tremendous economic and jobs boost that Jewish settlements have brought to the area since 1967."

Dayan in an interview in the House Republican Conference office immediately after the briefing said he was pleased with the reception.

"I was I must say even overwhelmed by the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee" - Royce - "saying he reads all my articles," Dayan said.
2>ISRAEL CAN'T COUNT ON AMERICA Ted Belman
Jews/Israelis always have had a strong affinity with the United States or at least with ideals of true democracy. Unfortunately, this affinity has been one-sided and not shared by the leadership of the leading democracy!
America today is the same America that: 1. Stopped Jewish immigration in the twenties.
2. Turned anti-Semitic in the depression
3. Allowed its citizens to finance the Nazi war machine.
4. Banned Jewish refugees from entering the US during the Holocaust.
5. Refused to bomb the railways transporting Jews to extermination centers.
6. Refused to bomb the extermination camps.
Refused entry of a boatload of Jewish children during the holocaust
7. Was against the creation of Israel. Fortunately countermanded by Pres Truman.
- 1951 Kermit Roosevelt, the CIA's operations chief in the Middle East set up a fake anti-Israel lobby in Washington called American Friends of the Middle East. Its job was to weaken popular support for the Jewish state.
8. Placed an arms embargo on Israel after its creation which lasted until after the Six day War.
9. Forced Israel to withdraw from the Sinai after it conquered it in 1956.
11. Ordered Israel to wait to be attacked before the '73 war which wasted precious hours.
10. Refused to resupply the IDF in the '73 war in the early days when it was sorely needed.
11. Prevented Israel from delivering the coup de gras in that war.
12. Sided with Egypt in demanding Israel retreat from every inch of the Sinai.
13. Forced Israel to put Jerusalem on the table in the Madrid Peace Conferance
- violated a plea bargain with Jonathan Pollard and incarcerated him for close to 30 years which is grossly unprecedented for similar crimes.
14. Was against Israel bombing the Osirak reactor in Iraq.
15. Ordered Israel not to attack Iraq in the Gulf War in '91 even if attacked.
16 Demanded full withdrawal by Israel from all territories contrary to UNSC Res 242
17. Demanded Israel dismantle some settlements and stop building them.
18. Has called the settlements "illegitimate" since 1980
19. Supported the creation of a Palestinian state. (Bush vision speech)
20. Demanded that we not totally defeat Hamas in the first war against them (2009)
21. Supports Auschwitz borders.
22. Demanded Israel refrain from attacking Iran's nuclear facilities.
23. Embraced the Muslim Brother and now Iran,  both of which call for the eradication of Israel.
ADDITIONAL: Don't Count on America! In spite of this strange friendship and the effort of the US administrations that held Israel from ending the Arab-Israel conflict and reclaiming Jewish ancestral land, Israel has survived and flourished against all odds!
Note 1: Not only did America abandon Israel in 1948, it had plans to fight Israel on behalf of Egypt in 1956 and 1967 in Sinai. (USS Liberty, the best spy ship at the time, was sent into the war zone, in spite of assurances given to Israel that there were no US ships in the area. What country was it spying for and why?)
Note 2: The American invasion of Iraq was contrary to Israeli interests. No analyst in Israel supported the American war with Iraq or believed it would produce a stable, friendly government. The war brought Iranian influenced Iraq closer to Israel's border. (The United States have been facilitating instability in Syria, creating another Islamist failed state at the door-step of Israel!)
Note 3: America supplies massive quantities of advanced weapons to Israel's Arab enemies, and does nothing to end the boycott of Israel by America's Arab allies.
Note 4: The US did not prevent Pakistan from obtaining nuclear weapons, even though Wahhabist Pakistan is the largest existential threat to Israel, and are as likely to supply nuclear weapons to anti-Israel terrorists. America's close ally, Saudi Arabia, financed Pakistan's nuclear program.
Note 5: America never contemplated defending Israel even in dire situations. US defended Kuwait with direct military invasion, but pushing Israel to abandon Judea and Jerusalem to the Arabs is acceptable. Is demise of Israel still American Middle East policy, or is it just Obama's policy
Note 6: American administrations reject moving the US embassy to Jerusalem, violating its own law!

3>SECRET REPORT REVEALS KERRY'S PLAN 'FRAUD'

Mark Langfan uncovers secret 1967 USJCoS memorandum, says it proves Kerry's proposals are 'fraud on Israel and the Jews.'

1967 Allon Plan map
The Allon Plan (Hebrew: ?????? ?????) was a proposal to end the Israeli occupation of the West Bank with a negotiated partition of the territory between Israel and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.  The plan also included the creation of a Druze state in Syria's Quneitra Governorate, including the Israeli-held Golan Heights. Allon died in 1980, and the following year the Israeli government passed the Golan Heights Law, effectively annexing most of the governorate.

A secret US Joint Chiefs of Staff (USJCoS) Memorandum from 1967 has been uncovered by Arutz Sheva analyst Mark Langfan. Langfan says the report proves that US Secretary of State John Kerry's current proposed security arrangements are a "military security fraud on Israel and the Jews."
Kerry is currently in Israel, pushing his proposals for the Jordan Valley which Palestinian Authority (PA) Chief Mahmoud Abbas again rejected on Friday morning. Langfan has revealed in the past that the arrangements are based on the 1967 "Allon Plan," and are a "death-trap" for Israel.
The newly revealed secret document, dated June 29, 1967 and referenced as "JSCM-373-67," take Israel's "defensible" borders as its subject. It was signed by then-Chairman of the USJCoS, US Gen. Earle G. Wheeler.
The memorandum shows the necessity of Israeli control over the high ground of western Samaria.
"From a strictly military point of view...the views of the Joint Chiefs of Staff...(see as necessary Israeli) control of the prominent high ground running north-south" through Judea and Samaria, reads the report. Langfan notes that this region, deemed crucial for defensible Israeli borders, is the very area that is slated to be given to the PA under Kerry's plan.
Furthermore, the memorandum's appendix elaborates that Israel at minimum needs a defense line along "Bardala-Tubas-Nablus-Bira-Jerusalem," which "would give a portion of the (Judean and Samarian) foothills to Israel and avoid interdiction by artillery in the Israeli villages in the lowlands."
Langfan remarked "in 1967, before shoulder-fired anti-air missiles, before laser-designators, before radar and radio-jammers, before Katyushas from Lebanon and Gaza, before rampant Muslim-on-Muslim use of Sarin-tipped-chemical-Katyushas in Syria, the greatest collection of military professionals in the world concluded Israel's retention of Western Samaria was a military necessity for Israel."
However, Langfan points out that a more insidious problem than Kerry's "fraudulent" security plan exists.
"(The) real problem is that for years, Israel's entire military establishment has generally signed onto the 'Jordan Valley Concept' that wholly contradicts the professional written military conclusion of the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff," reveals Langfan.
Through the Jordan Valley arrangements that have been commonly promoted, Israel would abandon Judea and Samaria to various degrees, keeping a security presence in the Jordan Valley.
Langfan notes the indefensible nature of such an arrangement. He remarks that the 1967 memorandum "prophetically predicted the likely advent of Katyusha rockets from Western Samaria into Israel's" population centers, referencing a strategic threat that he has warned of in the past.
Langfan called for a a commission of inquiry, such as was conducted after the disastrous 1973 Yom Kippur War, to determine how "such a military hoax could have been perpetrated by the IDF, and successive Israeli-governments." He further volunteered to "be the first to testify, and name names."
"Israel should have a 'commission of inquiry,' before it suffers a catastrophic irreversible defeat, not after 10's or 100's of thousands of Jews are murdered as a result of Israel's endemic military failures," warned Langfan.
