Challah Hu Akbar

Back in March, Hamas Economic Minister Alla al-Deen al-Rafati told Xinhua that Iran was supporting "the Palestinian people through housing projects for prisoners released last October in the latest prisoner swap deal with Israel."

In late June, Hamas announced plans for a new housing project for the terrorists released in the Shalit deal.

Now, Hamas has laid the foundation stone for the project and has revealed it has received at least $2 million from Iran for the project.
The Minister of Detainees’ Affairs Dr. Attallah AbuSebah and the Minister of Public Works and Housing Dr. Yousef Almansi laid the foundation stone for the Alsalihi Building for housing released prisoners on land in Al Israa neighbourhood, west of Khan Younis. A large number of released prisoners, agents and managers at the Ministry of Detainees’ Affairs and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing attended the ceremony.
Dr. AbuSebah expressed his happiness at laying the foundation stone for the housing project for the prisoners on land once raped, and now liberated thanks to the Palestinian resistance. He confirmed that this is the first step for prisoners to settle back into Palestinian society.
Dr. Atallah expressed his gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran and its Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Ali Salihi, who donated two million dollars to build housing projects for released prisoners. He called on the Islamic and Arab nations to support and stand by the Palestinian people facing the Israeli occupation’s oppressive policies.

The City of Alshaikh Khalif Bin Zaid Aal Nahyan will also be built for the released prisoners west of the city in AlZahraa on an area of 110 dunams. The building process will start in the coming few months, following agreement with the government of the United Arab Emirates.
He praised released prisoner Tawfeeq Abu Naim, the head of the released prisoners committee, expressing appreciation of his supportive efforts for the prisoners’ cause, whether from inside or outside the country. He noted that the suffering of prisoners inside Israeli jails is still ongoing, and is being escalated by the Israeli occupation. "Despite all the suffering that is imposed on us by the Israeli occupation, it will not prevent us from keep on building and constructing our country," he concluded.
