A Sunday New York Times article shows why
Israel must never cede control of Judea and Samaria, according to Arutz
Sheva analyst Mark Langfan.
The report cites a newly-published analysis by Theodore Postol, an
MIT professor, and Richard Lloyd, a Telsascientist, which concluded that
the rockets used in Syrian chemical attacks on civilians in August were
likely “propelled by motors taken from a common family of
122-millimeter conventional artillery rockets known as the BM-21.” The
BM-21s are Russian rockets commonly known by their newer name “Grad,” or
by their earlier nick-names, “Katyusha.”
The study concluded that the chemical warheads that were used
“contained a large volume, about 13.2 gallons, of sarin. The United
Nations implicitly seconded that suggestion when it included a similar
estimate in its own report in September… The assumption that the
warheads contained a large volume of nerve agent” lead to the conclusion
that the August 21 attack “implicated the Syrian government.”
The scientists concluded that leaden with the heavier chemical warhead, the range was 1.5 to 2.2 miles.
This is precisely the danger that would face Israel’s major
population center – the greater Tel Aviv area – if territory in the
nearby mountains of Judea and Samaria were ceded to the Palestinian
Authority, says Langfan.
“Iranian-funded terrorists could smuggle small and portable chemical
122mm-Katyusha rocket parts into any ‘demilitarized’ Palestinian West
Bank state where Israel didn’t control the borders and couldn’t enter
the Palestinian areas and make forcible arrests,” notes Langfan. “So,
from Day One, the ‘Peace Process’ was entirely based on a military fraud
against the Jews of Israel, and of the world.”
Langfan continued, “The ‘Peace Process’ Israeli politicians like
Tzipi Livni (Hatnua) and Yitzhak Herzog (Labor) are drinking the
‘Kool-Aid’ if they think such a PA state wouldn’t bring a Holocaust 2.0.
If the Shiite Assad murdered thousands of Syrian Sunnis with his
chemical Katyushas, an Iranian-Hamas West Bank state would murder
millions of Jews in a heartbeat,” he said, adding wryly that “somehow
the world would blame the Israelis for being gassed to death.”
