Israel was Never an Issue

Herb Keinon

For the tens of thousands of protesters who took to Egypt's streets, defying the curfew and calling for the departure of President Hosni Mubarak (Initially untill Muslim Brotherhood joined in), Israel and the Palestinians were simply not on the agenda. (Protest scripts were not written and orchestrated by Egypt's government)

And the same was the case during the Jasmine Revolution in Tunisia earlier this month, and in the demonstrations intermittently taking place in Jordan, Yemen, Algeria and Morocco. No cries of death to Israel, no signs to "lift the siege" of Gaza, no chants against housing projects in Ariel... It's clear that the tidal wave of popular anger against the Arab world's 'moderate' regimes would be washing over those regimes regardless of an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement. Why? Because Middle East instability is not about us - it is about them. It is about Arab unemployment, Arab poverty and Arab despair of a better future...

True, there is hopelessness in the Arab world - but the source is not the Arab masses concern about the Palestinians, the source is the Arab masses' concern about their own lives, their own unemployment and their own lack of freedoms. Fix that and you get stability. Ignore that, and you get revolution (and Islamic terror).

But everyone - led by the US under Obama and the EU - ignored that, fixated instead on the building of another house in Ramat Shlomo or another apartment unit in Efrat. How many times have international leaders bewailed the humanitarian situation in east Jerusalem and in Gaza? How many statements have been issued expressing righteous indignation and concern? And, by comparison, how much attention did these same leaders pay to the humanitarian situations in Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen, Morocco, Jordan and Algeria - in the 'moderate' Arab states. And which situation, really, threatens the stability of the region? The Middle East is now at a crossroads. There is a democratic moment fast approaching, but one looks at it with fear and trembling...

NOTE: Deputy leader Rashad Al-Bayumi of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood declared, on Thursday, his movement's intention to cancel Egypt's 1979 peace treaty with Israel. He added that cancellation of the treaty would be one of the demands made of a temporary government after the ousting of President Hosni Mubarak. (President Obama supports this 'revolution'! It is not a political blindness but betrayal!)

Since 1978 Egypt has received more than $600 billion in the US aid. Mubarak has positioned his government as a vital counterbalance to Iran. Egypt has been well-paid 'friend' of the United States over the past three decades.

Food for Thought. by Steven Shamrak

Recent turmoil in the Muslim word proves the point that Jewish patriots, Zionists, have been making for a long time - we can't make peace with Arab/Muslim dictators. They only use agreements with Israel as a stepping-stone toward her destruction. At any time, treaties with Israel are subject of a unilateral cancellation by the next dictatorial Islamic regime, if not by existing one!

Freedom of Speech Only for anti-Israel Protesters

Rutgers University campus police tonight barred some 400 Jewish students and their supporters, including some Holocaust survivors, from attending what was billed as an anti-Zionist gathering at the state school tonight. The student-sponsored event was announced with an open invitation campus-wide, and Rutgers policy is for all student activities to be open to the public. (Basic Human rights are under the threat in the United States. It is a historically proven practice of tyrants - begin with depravation of Jews!)

Dangerous Precedent - Egyptian Military Enter Sinai

Egyptian reinforcements reached northern Sinai on Monday, Jan. 31 to hunt down Hamas gunmen from the Gaza Strip battling Egyptian forces for control of the territory. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, fearing Egypt could end up with a radical Islamic regime as in Iran, allowed the first Egyptian military troops to enter Sinai since the 1979 peace treaty.

Generosity of Islamic Tyrants

During her husband's first year in office, First Lady Michelle Obama received a large number of gifts from foreign dignitaries, but perhaps none are more impressive than the ones she got from Saudi King Abdullah, including a ruby and diamond jewellery set valued at $132,000 and a necklace made of 33 pearls with a sterling silver pendant, valued at $14,200. The King also gave President Obama's daughters, Sasha and Malia, jewellery that including diamond earrings and necklaces valued at over $3,500 per set. The King's generosity also extended to senior White House officials, who received tens of thousands of dollars worth of watches and jewellery. (No wonder Israel is under US pressure to surrender!)

Internal Affair versus International Bullying and Hypocrisy

President Barack Obama delivered an ultimatum to Egyptian Vice President Omar Suleiman, the army and security chiefs, to remove Mubarak in the coming hours or else US aid to Egypt will be cut off. The White House said: "President Barack Obama has been clear on Egypt that the transition must begin now, and now means now." (I am not a fan of Mubarak, but it is disgusting to see so-called friends of his, who knew quite well about his dictatorial regime while they were welcoming him as a 'moderate' in their homes, are jumping ship so fast. International hypocrisy, lead by Obama, has shown its true traitorous nature again!)

Quote of the Week:

" If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie." - Goebbels - The second sentence is less known, but even more important! Many governments had been using this principle! Even before the inception of the Jewish states, Israel became a victim of internationally driven anti-Semitic propaganda, which is blooming now! If they hate Israel, ignoring legal and historical facts, how are they differing from Nazis?

Another Delay Tactic

Anyone would be able to get a copy of President Barack Obama 's birth records for a $100 fee under a bill introduced in the state Legislature that backers hope will finally dispel claims he was born elsewhere. But, the new legislation to release records may run into similar legal problems because of Hawaii's strong constitutional privacy protections. (Why is it a problem to release Barack Obama's original birth certificate for public viewing and end this mess?)

Jewish Self-Hate Must be Stopped

Rep. Gary Ackerman, effectively cut ties with J Street, saying the organisation's "brains have fallen out" after it urged the Obama administration not to veto another anti-Israel UN resolution. The United States has not said whether it would veto the proposal, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed disappointment in it. (Let's hope that the US government is not as hateful towards Israel as are some Jewish organisations)

Hypocrisy of the Headlines:

" OPINION: Why Israel fears a free Egypt..." - washingtonpost.com - Israel does not fear free and dem ocratic Egypt, but does not want hostile Islamic regime next door!

Under the Cloud of 'Revolution'

A joint Hizballah-Hamas unit used the havoc in Egypt to storm the Wadi Natrun prison north of Cairo Sunday, Jan. 30, and break out 22 members of the Hizballah's spy-terror network, tried and convicted in Egypt for plotting terrorist attacks in Cairo, the Suez Canal, Suez cities and on Israeli vacationers in Sinai in 2007-2008. They are back in Gaza. Muslim Brotherhood inmates were also freed to boost the anti-Mubarak street protests.

Shameless 'Friendship' - Pollard is still in Jail!

The WikiLeaks website last week leaked a secret State Department cable from October 31, 2008, directing United States officials to spy on Israel. The cable, dated only days before the 2008 American presidential elections, was signed by then-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. The recently leaked cable reveals former U.S. President George W. Bush s foreign policy czar instructing American diplomats in Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, as well as the Defense Intelligence Agency and the CIA, to conduct a massive espionage operation against the Jewish state. The sought-for information covered all aspects of Israel's political system, society, communications infrastructures and the Israel Defense Forces. US diplomat s and spies were instructed to gather intelligence on planned Israeli military operations against the American-backed Palestinian Authority, Syria and Lebanon. (The US establishment was 'disappointed' by the fact that Israel was spying on a "friend" and hashly punished Jonathan Jay Pollard, breaking even a plea-bargaining deal. What sentence must the Israel's court give to Condoleezza Rice when she visits Israel next time? History repeats itself as during the Six Day War the US sent USS Liberty, the most sophisticated spy ship of its time, to spy on true friend, Israel!)
