Tackling Abbas

Nurit Greenger

On September 27, 2012 the chairman of the executive committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) and the president of the Palestinian Authority (PA), the Arab-Palestinian Mahmoud Abbas-Abu Mazen addressed the General Debate of the 67th session of the UN General Assembly at the UN headquarters in New York City, the United States.

Abbas received a standing ovation from the members of his creed, The 57 member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the largest state members bloc in the UN.

Mahmoud Abbas' hateful speech at the UN September 27, 2012 [part 1 - 3]
Abbas used the UN podium to lash on Israel. Throughout his speech he lied excessively and made claims to distorted facts, in order to make his people – the Arab Palestinians innocent victims of the Jews. He accused Israel for being a colonial military occupier of Palestinian land; a brutal, aggressive and racially discriminating regime against his victimized people. He also accused Israel to be the primary cause for the collapse of the "peace talks," that has confiscated land from the planned Palestine state. Abbas called the Jews living in Judea and Samaria criminal armed militia and he glorified his predecessor, the mass murder Yasser Arafat.

Abbas is not to blame because it was the genius of Israel that had given birth to Palestine and with it had buried its biblical, historical and jurisprudence claim to Judea and Samaria. Once the Jeannie was out of the bottle, how can anyone push her back in?

Since the Israelis do not speak in clear language about Jews' 3000 year presence in the land of Israel and they do not put Abbas against the wall for his ongoing libels, I cannot blame Abbas for believing his lies. The Arabs-Palestinians distortion of the truth has turned them to be pathological liars, a sickness the world favorably accepts.

Since Israeli does not emphasize the facts and makes her case, the world has long forgotten that not too long ago, in the early 20st century, when the Ottoman empire fell, the WORLD agreed -  in the San Remo Conference and the Treaty of Sevres - that the land, from the River to the Sea, including all of Jerusalem, belongs to the Jewish people, based on history, archeology, comparative religion and jurisprudence. More so, and after all, after the defeat and fall of the Ottoman Empire, 22 Arab states came into being, based on political favors, nothing else, BUT no one questions their legitimacy; so why do people question Israel's existence and legitimacy?

For years Abbas has taken advantage of Israel ambiguity and schizophrenic approach to her own rights to the land and the real size of that land and he has lashed on Israel, based on awful lies and revised history and the world has taken it all in believing and agreeing with him.

I must say, Abbas is a masterful liar and that is an art.

Israel has been very unsuccessful in playing the political poker game with Abbas. What Israel should have done long ago is declare, we are always willing to negotiate with Abbas for the sake of peace, but… despite all our willingness, the PA, headed by Abbas, reciprocates with unremitting incitement to hate and violence including in all its programs directed at youth, the future Arab-Palestinian generation that will never know how to deliver or live in peace with their Jewish neighbors.

When will Israel force the world to learn that she is the good guy? When will protecting Abbas policy end and the truth will no longer be concealed , rather revealed and publically condemned? After all Israel is constantly negotiating what belongs to the Jewish nation; Israel is willing to accommodate the Arabs by giving then some of HER property, yet they are forever dissatisfied and ungrateful.
When will Israel have the courage to say, we owe the Arabs NOTHING; legally we could have kicked then all out in 1967 and get rid of this hateful human element that has no intention to stop hating Jews and have done so from the day Jews have begun restoring their homeland, for no other reason but for them being Jews. Yet, Israel is seen as the culprit. WHY?

Again, Abbas just walked away with legitimizing taking away a chunk of Jerusalem from Israel, by portraying Israel as an occupier and colonizer, that she is not.

When the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu delivers a speech in the UN and the entire world's ears were tuned to him he missed the opportunity to mention the ill behavior of Abbas and his fellow Arabs, what I call "the Arabs' crime blotter". The arson, the knifings, the hurling of rocks and stones at moving Israeli vehicles, at soldiers, the police and firefighters, all doing their job "for the safety and security for ALL".

It is common that the US and EU tell Israel that she wants no peace when she complains about the Arabs' incitement. It is imperative to endlessly show what the incitement to hate and violence result in: a situation whereby all Arab-Palestinians are indoctrinated to hate, to violence and that Israel-should-not-exist ideology. Mentioning that would have taken Netanyahu just a few minutes and would have given a pause to at least a few in the audience, who are planning to vote for a UN PA upgrade.

There was nothing there to force Obama's hand to work against the PA upgrade; nothing to embarrass the Europeans regarding their PA and Abbas sycophancy. And that was a pitiful missed opportunity at the UN megaphone. And that is WHY Obama gets away with publically spanking Israel on every turn, for building homes for Jews in Jewish neighborhoods in Jerusalem to retreating to wiped out ceasefire lines.

What was left out of Netanyahu's UN speech is the excoriating of Abbas who, like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called from the same podium Netanyahu spoke, to genocide of the Jewish nation.

So in his next megaphone USA speech, probably AIPAC 2013 PM Netanyahu must come with the "Arab crime blotter" mantra.

A generation that the destruction of the state of Israel is in their genes, and the lies their leaders – as Abbas unashamedly delivered in the UN - have been feeding them and have become their reality, will never achieve peace or adhere to any coexistence agreements with Israel. It is a close case of Islamofascism madness.

And as the endless "conflict-peace process-peace process-conflict" goes, according to PLO Executive Committee member Wassel Abu Yusef, the latest of Abbas "scare" tactic is his suggestion that Ramallah to abrogate the Oslo Accords with Israel. Though Abbas is attempting to put some pressure on or frighten someone, the irony is that the Arab-Palestinians side has been the only one to have benefitted from the Oslo Accords. After 19 years of Israel doing all she can, less giving up the state, she can definitely pronounce that she was the outright loser of her own risky perilous experiment. All Israel can show for Oslo is thousands Israeli citizens dead and a total turn around against her in the international arena. And if to point fingers at those who concocted the Oslo Accords, they deserve to be brought to trial for crimes against the nation, but who has to guts to take Shimon Peres off his presidency throne and throw him into a national trial of conspiracy and deception?

If Abbas to indeed go ahead and abrogate the Oslo Accords it will be a harsh slap on the face of his benefactors, the USA and EU, who have been pouring billions of dollars over these past nineteen years, most of it has been squandered and the truth is that Abbas does not have much to show for it. Ramallah is always one month away from going broke and dismantled. Abrogation Oslo, will leave the USA and the EU foreign ministry with half the work they do today and cut their travel mileage too, because it is mainly based on Israel – discussions, condemnations and visits to the Jewish state - over the settlements and the "peace process." Their egos have been deeply invested to achieve a Palestine state for the Arabs on account of Israel.

More so, did Abbas think from where will his fame come next when he is no longer the president of a make believe entity named the Palestinian Authority? Will it be a repeat of the Gaza take over by Hamas, from where the PLO was violently thrown out after the people had enough of them?

The Oslo Accords is no longer the desire of any realistic and sober Israeli. Israelis are tired of being blamed for all that goes wrong for Abbas and his people no matter what approach they take, no matter what and how they do and what goodwill they show; it is a no win situation for them on every turn. Israelis are tired of the Arabs' ongoing incitements, the life of fear of and terror acts they live under and the demonization of their homeland, accused of genocide of Arabs, and them being made "occupiers" and "racists." They are tired of being treated based on a standard no other country will succumb to, all for the purpose of appeasing Abbas and his cronies. Israelis now know that neither Arafat nor Abbas have ever been a peace partner. This was all a political charade sold to them by people from their own nation who did not hesitate to collaborate with Jews' murderers, who had nothing but ill intentions for their state and for their own political glory refused to see through it all and admit they are taking their nation down the slippery slope.
Since the Oslo Accords and its additions, such as the Paris Protocol for economic cooperation, neither Arafat nor Abbas have adhered or honored their side of the bargain on all its obligations, but they have managed to always press for more changes in their favor. Abbas and his made up Arab-Palestinian nation have tried everything but deliver peace. In their mind peace will come when Israel no longer exists.

So I challenge Abbas to abrogate the Oslo Accords, and I challenge Israel to annex all of Judea and Samaria the day after.

Shall we say, Abbas, the rhapsody is over?

Let us see who will be the one to have the last word. Who will outsmart the other.
In the case of Mahmud Abbas and the Arab-Palestinians and their ongoing and tiring conflict with the State of Israel, the time has come for Israel to take stock of the situation and create a new reality.
