Finger Bites

Nurit Greenger

December 21, 2012

Over thirty years ago I had an idea its time had not yet come then but it with us today. I wanted to open a restaurant in which the customers will have the opportunity to order a variety of finger bite food, and thus be able to taste all sort of foods instead of being stuck with a three-to-five course meal.

I did not open the restaurant but others have brought my idea to fruition.

Now-a-days, the trend of gourmet finger bite food is thriving. The idea is to taste-eat as much as one can but not feel the discomfort of over eating. One such creative chef in the finger bite food business is Yossi Machluf (http://yossichef.com/) (http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Yossichef-events/152405888113995?fref=ts).

Personally I find a man who likes to cook rather sexy. But such talent goes deep into creativity and compositions of food. It is no longer a chef, it is an artist and a food designer.

Yossi, 32 year old, born in Israel, arrived in the USA in 2004. He is not only the chef whom you want to feed your guests, he is also a professional Salsa dance instructor; with a belly full of joyful food to the dance floor with your chef. Even better, he is offering 'Little Chefs' cooking clinics in which he teaches children the basics of the art of cooking. Your babysitting chef. Soon enough he will be offering a Shabbat Dinner for Israelis – and all else who want to join – who are missing home or want to experience fine cuisine in a Shabbat atmosphere.

Based on the fact that the eye eats, 'Yossichef' offers 200 types colorful appetizers, made from Kosher food products; he can also cater to a full sit-down dinner. The food is Mediterranean-multicultural fusion, if you know what that means. The ingredients are not inexpensive and he will not compromise for quality. As he says, I am not Taco-Bell. But who cares; the array of dishes creates curiosity of 'what is it, what's in it' and it tastes terrific, very palatable. Yossichef builds a menu that will hold the party for two-to-three hours on the food alone and the food becomes the center of the party.

Yossi selects his clients, they do not select him, this because he gets inspiration from his clients. And when he chooses his client, he comes hard on himself to create perfect food so he is remembered and the referrals keep on coming. Yossichef works on word to mouth only.

If the reader is looking for quality food, without saving on the dollar, and fun to go along with it, Yossichef is the answer; he will bring the joy of food to every occasion.
