I Am Wondering, Don't You?

Nurit Greenger

How did Israel end up in a situation in which the Arab-"Palestinian" keep on making a claim to all the territory – from the River to the Sea – Israel regained in 1967, which the world, at the time Israel was established, believed, and thus voted for her to have on which to build the Jewish state?

How did Israel end up to be the loser of every issue of the conflict the Arabs have with her?

How can Israel turn it around and get rid of the noose named Arab-"Palestinians"?

The world is fatigued of the Arab-Israeli "peace process" and it has, at large, taken to support the Arabs cause, leaving Israel totally naked of its truth and cause.

The truth is that Israel is lacking true leadership; she has no one in office to finally start talking, steadfastly, the truth that the land from the 'River to the Sea' and all of Jerusalem belongs to the Je

So now Israel must find the leadership and courage to say ENOUGH!

Government "media" star, like MK Danny Ayalon, need to start the movement of pushing back, hard. This must include that the PLO/PA/Fatah/Abbas and his cronies must "recognize" Israel in all aspects and END their revision and whitewashing of Jewish history; end the lies and the incitement the world is so willingly tuned to hear.

In the meantime, the government of Israel of all its security agencies must take measures and arrest ALL Arab-Palestinians who are known to be involved in this new wave of unrest of the new - Hamas/Iran - terrorist movement organization in Nablus. This organization must be disbanded now, before it gets out of hand as it will. Its principals must be incarcerated or thrown out of the country, NOW. They must not be able to function regardless of world opinion Israel will face. Or the next intifada, as it is now developing, will not match any of the past intifada waves and Israel will be totally paralyzed to handle it.

The problem of the "territories" originated and remained with the fateful decision of Meir Shamgar, who was the President of the Israeli Supreme Court from 1983 until 1995, in the wake of the Six Day War.

He convinced Prime Minister Levy Eshkol that the "territories" were subject to the Geneva Conventions, i.e. that they were under "belligerent occupation."

And since then, no Israeli Government has had the courage and resolve to redress the situation and tell the truth, simply the truth.

The question is, is 45 years too long a period and is it too late now to turn the tide? I don't think so. However, so long as the myth of "occupation" is not squarely demolished, the Arabs/Arab-Palestinians/Leftists will continue to have a valid pretext to attack Israel diplomatically. And come to think of it, if the "West Bank" is indeed "occupied" then, the whole of Israel is equally "occupied", since there is no difference whatsoever between territories acquired in 1948-49 and those acquired in 1967.

Hence the seriousness of the problem, and the tragedy of the Israeli silence.

No elected government of Israel has a right to give away Jewish land to the enemy of the Jewish people. The land is not their personal property to give, it belongs and is the property of the entire Jewish nation. It is like a museum curator who gives away display items as a gift to the people. That is simply impossible!

We need consequences, not speeches and silly, after the fact and irrelevant, reactions.

Enough of Israel stripping herself of her rights and cause. Change the course, change the mantra.
