The first Muslim in Congress has a Muslims first (and only) agenda.

By arguing that there’s no need to
investigate the Muslim community, Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison is going
out on a very shaky limb. Almost nobody believes that anymore.
Not even multicultural lefties. Not after
homegrown Muslim terrorists attacked hypertolerant Boston, a city that’s
indulged the Muslim community, even after several Muslims hijacked and
crashed two jets departing Logan Airport in 2001.
The Muslim marathon bombers appear to have
gotten help from family and friends in the local Muslim community. The
largest mosque in New England has fallen under suspicion. The Boston FBI
field office is finally asking tough questions about religious
motivation.
But as Congress’ first Muslim, Ellison insists law enforcement agents are wasting their time.
“I think it’s ineffective law enforcement
to go after a particular community,” he said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the
Press.” “We don’t have enough law enforcement resources to just go after
one community.”
Yes, better to spread themselves thin
covering the Amish and Buddhist communities, which have exactly zero
radicals on the terrorist watch list compared with more than half a
million from the “Religion of Peace.”
Ellison suggests the FBI should be
devoting resources to “right-wing terrorism,” which he and the president
thought would be “the next big thing.”
Boston proved we’re still dealing with the
same threat from the same community. Once again, we’re finding too many
Muslims provide the sea in which the jihadists swim. Nothing’s changed
since 9/11. Except now we have politicians like Ellison working with
Islamist pressure groups like CAIR to constantly throw sand in the eyes
of law enforcement so they can’t see the threat.
Their political reflex seems to protect
Islam first, then Americans. But they are out of sync even with liberal
Democrats, including:
• Ex-Rep. Barney Frank, who says he’s confused by Obama’s refusal to define Boston bombings as jihad;
• Democratic strategist Bob Beckel, who’s called for a halt to Muslim student visas;
• Newsweek media critic Howard Kurtz, who’s fed up with “too much sensitivity” on “Islamic jihad;” and,
• New York Times columnist Tom Friedman, who asked: “What is going on in your community?”
Apparently, Ellison is too busy protecting his coreligionists to see what even his liberal friends see.
